The WoodWorks program is a comprehensive program that helps build and remodel buildings using wood. Designed to increase wood consumption and market share, the program works directly with construction and design teams. Expert staff provides support on projects and facilitates the transition toward wood. WoodWorks also hosts educational events to educate the general public about the advantages of using wood in construction.
While WoodWorks is not a traditional apprenticeship, it teaches skills in construction, furniture design, and more. The program also helps students learn how to work with others and operate equipment. The program helps students develop a career-ready mindset. RoyOMartin offers the program at 19 schools. Interested students can apply to participate by purchasing an Individual Membership.
Classes are offered in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Each semester, more than 50 different courses are offered. Students have access to the shop for hands-on learning, with open shop hours during which they can work on class projects. Small class sizes ensure hands-on learning. The program is taught by accomplished master craftspeople.
The WoodWorks software program with design tools, however, is the perfect tool for creating high-quality, realistic woodworking models. These software programs are ideal for beginners and experienced woodworkers alike. The diverse drawing tools available in a woodworking program allow users to design anything from 3D warehouses to small pieces of furniture. It also allows users to pick a specific type of wood and emulate drill holes, which is essential for creating furniture.
