Reducing Joint Pain

Joint pain can make it difficult to enjoy everyday tasks and activities. It can even make you think twice about doing something because of the discomfort it causes. Although it might be tempting to try to ignore the pain, this will only make the problem worse. You may also weaken your muscles and posture by avoiding the motions that cause discomfort. Luckily, there are many different methods to reduce joint pain, and many of them are natural.

One of the easiest ways to reduce joint pain is to eat foods that are known to reduce inflammation. Several anti-inflammatory foods have high levels of antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids, which may help reduce pain. Try to eat at least two servings of fish every week, including sardines and salmon patties. You can also eat tart cherries, which contain compounds that may reduce inflammation. Try mixing a few dried tart cherries into your yogurt or eating them on salads.

Citrus fruits are known to help reduce joint pain because they contain vitamin C. This vitamin reduces inflammation in the joint and strengthens ligaments, tendons and bone tissue. Also, soy products are rich in isoflavones, which have anti-inflammatory properties. Soy milk and tofu contain these compounds.
