“Uh, Bakugo?”

A familiar voice said, a hint of concern in their voice. The blonde snapped back to reality and faced the direction of the sound.

“Huh?”

“We were just talking about how we might go out later today and if you wanted to come.”

Oh it was just Kirishima. Katsuki must’ve zoned out while they were having their lunch

“Oh, Uhm…”

“C’mon! It will be fun! We definitely need some after What’s happened the past few months. This could be our treat.” Denki exclaimed, throwing his arms around Katsuki’s shoulder.

“I’m not sure if today is the right day.”

“Please? It would be boring without our explosion boy shouting at us.” Mina said, giving him a baby face expression.

Bakugo didn’t know if he wanted to go or not. Sure, it might help if cool off after the war, but he just felt like hanging out inside or watching a movie.

Not like he would tell them that though.

“Not today. I don’t have the energy.”

“You never have the energy.” Denki mumbled under his voice. Mina, who was sitting right next to him, nudged his shoulder, causing him to scrunch his face.

“Ow.”

“What he means,” Mina turned back to Katsuki, “is it’s ok if you don’t want to come. We aren’t forcing you. We just thought it would be nice for the whole group to come. But whatever floats your boat. I mean it is the Baku Squad right?”

Katuski glared at her.

“What the fuck.”

Mina looked at him, confused at his response.

“Who chose that name? It’s cringy as fuck.”

This made their whole table burst into laughter.

“Bakugo! Didn’t you say that if we wanted to name the group, it had to start with you?” Sero finally spurted.

No I didn’t

He didn’t recall the time that he ever even agreed to having a group name.

“No.”

“Alright then, amigo! But it was totally you.”

Katsuki just frowned at him and continued eating his udon (which was nowhere near as spicy as he liked but he didn’t want to complain)

As he was about to take his last bite, he was interrupted by his friend.

“Oh Bakugo, did you hear about the event that’s happening this Sunday?”

Katsuki looked at him, showing him that he didn’t know anything about the ‘event happening this Saturday’.

“What event?” He asked.

“The winter funfair! Happening in town square. Almost everyone in the whole of the city is literally going. There’s gonna be rides, food, games and I heard they’re bringing a big ice skating rink as well.”

“Tch. Sounds boring as hell.”

Kirishima looked to have expected his response and sighed.

“Well, it wouldn’t hurt to try something new.”

“Yeah,no. I have better things to be doing than some dumbass fair.”

Kaminari threw his head to face the blonde’s direction.

“Like what?”

“Like,” He wasted no time to reply, “None of your beeswax, Dunceface.”

“Actually it is my beeswax. You never do anything with us. You know, ever since we were allowed to go out of U.A, you’ve done nothing, nothing! C’mon, breathe some air. Like Kirishima said, it wouldn’t hurt to try.”

For some reason, what Denki said actually made sense.

He didn’t want to admit that the dunce was right, but deep down, he knew he was.

Yes, he hasn’t been outside ever since the war and everything. Yes, he tried to avoid any social activity that included stepping out U.A. So, Kaminari sorta had a point.

Katsuki groaned.

“Yeah whatever.” And with that, he picked his tray up to return it and left without saying anything else.

The ugly sighs of the group behind them irritated him more than anything.

He doesn’t need to go with them to their dumb parties and shit.

Didn’t alien say they weren’t forcing him? So why did he feel like that?

Bakugo let out another, quiet sigh (which was quite ‘aggressive’) and left the lunch rush.

Peace and quiet

The pinky-orange colour consumed the sky and the gentle, cool breeze sent a shiver through Katsuki’s body. He felt a wave of relaxation wash over him: this was the type of atmosphere he enjoyed.

Jirou had recently made him a playlist that he’s been obsessed with.

It actually helped him feel more like himself after the war.

Birds tweeting a sweet melody as the sound of leaves falling onto the light snow enveloped the space around him.

A sense of ease rushed through his veins.

Katsuki had longed for a nice walk after all that happened to him and his friends.

It was way too overwhelming and he needed to calm down.

Nothing can ruin this.

Suddenly, the sound of quick footsteps slowly became louder.

Of course, Bakugo would’ve recognised this earlier if it wasn’t for the decrease in his hearing.

Quickly, the boy shot himself around to see what was the cause of the noise- his hands were clenched into fists in case he needed to use his combat skills.

To his luck, it was just one of his classmates approaching him.

“Kacchan!” Izuku exclaimed, waving his arm at the blonde and a bag in his other.

He looked like he was coming back from the store.

As the freckled boy became closer to him, he finally spurted,

“Hi Kacchan! What are you doing out here at this time?” Sounding keen for the answer.

“I can say the same about you.” Katsuki said, even though he already knew the answer.

“Ah, this,” He rubbed his palm at the back of his neck,”. “Well, the girls want to put some facemasks on me so I just…got some.”

Bakugo snickered at this.

“You really let them convince you into doing their dumbass skincare shit?”

“No! I just wanted to try them out! They seem cool.”

“Totally.”

Izuku pouted at his response, crossing both his hands above his stomach.Cute.

“Well, what are you doing out here?”

“Tch. Just taking a walk.”

Midoriya relaxed his hands a bit before plopping them beside him.

“Should’ve known.” A small smile was painted on his face as he said this.

Katsuki frowned.

“What the fuck.”

Izuku’s face seemed to have a soft, gentle look on it. A wide grin beamed on his face, dimples popping out of his rosy, freckled cheeks. A feature that the blonde always loved about him.

It made Deku, well, Deku.

“Hah. Kacchan always liked peace and the comfort of his own personal space. I guess, since I’ve known you for a while, I should’ve guessed you were having time to yourself.”

His big, green eyes twinkled as he said this, made Katsuki feel…

“Whatever.”

“Are you heading back to the dorms now?”

“Yeah.”

The boy’s cheeks slightly flushed as he playfully fiddled with the plastic bag that was still in his hands.

“Uhm, I was just…wondering if I could…uh,”

Bakugo had already guessed that he was gonna ask this. He knew the nerd. They’ve been friends since they were brats for fucksake.

To be completely honest with himself, he actually wanted him to ask that- not like he would tell him that.

“Sure. I don’t care.”

Izuku’s eyes widened on hearing the blonde’s voice.

He seemed to have been shocked by what he said, but he wasn’t complaining.

“Really? Thanks Kacchan!”

“It’s not a big deal.”

Bakugo already started walking before the nerd said that, with his hand in his pockets.

Speedily, the boy quickly caught up with him.

The silence between them was awkward and Katsuki wasn’t planning on ruining it by saying something stupid.

“So..” Great. The nerd had to say something.

Katsuki scoffed but Izuku didn't seem to have heard him.

“What are you listening to?”

He wanted to tell him that Jirou made him the playlist however he wouldn’t want to admit that: especially not to Izuku.

“A playlist.”

“Can I have a listen?”

Bakugo stopped in his tracks. The fuck.

“What?”

Embarrassment washed over Midoriya as he realised his ‘mistake’.

“Oh! I, uh…ju-just wanted to have..a listen. But you, dont…h-have to l-let me because it is y-your pla-” he started but was interrupted by the blonde putting the other AirPod in his ear, causing the boy to gasp.

He could already see his cheeks becoming a soft red.

“Tch.” He ignored it and continued walking.

“H-hey! Wait up!”

Matte yo!

Once Izuku arrived side by side with the blonde, it only took a couple of seconds for Katsuki to realise the song had changed to something more fitting.

Now there’s someone at your door, Someone I’ve not met before

They've got eyes like mine, a pretty smile and they’ve been crying for a while

Cause they also didn’t know

That our lover loved us both

Well, fight or flight, I’d rather die than have to cry in front of you

Fight or flight, I’d rather lie than tell you I’m in love with you

My eyes are welling up as you admit there’s someone new

It’s my move, fight or flight

It was only until they arrived at the front of the dorms that they realised it was already dark.

“Oh. It’s already dark.” Izuku said, as if he had read Katsuki's mind.

“No shit Sherlock.” He spurted.

“I hadn’t noticed.”

“Yeah, maybe because You were too busy focusing on your mini concert.” The blonde said in a joking manner.

This made Izuku blush (for like the millionth time already) making him lower his head down.

“I just like the song.” He stated, embarrassed that Katsuki noticed him.

However, Bakugo misinterpreted his reaction- He actually mistook things quite often whenever he said something too risky to Midoriya.

He promised to try and change. Ever since the apology, I hoped things would be different between them; he didn’t want to be the same person who bullied Deku, who looked down on him because he was different. He didn’t want to be that same person that Izuku had to chase all his life. The person who told him to give up on his dreams.

Take a swan dive of the roof of the building

No. He didn’t want to make Izuku sad again.

“You know, your singing wasn’t all that bad.”

Izuku shot his head up.

Their eyes met.

Fuck.

“Oh Uhm, thank you,Kacchan.”

What was that response? I mean, he was happy he said thanks but, he hadn’t expected…that.

“No biggie.”

An uncomfortable silence filled the air between them.

Is he gonna say something?

“Well, I’m headed to sleep. You should too. You overwork yourself way too much.”

Izuku chuckled slightly, “Don’t worry too much about me. I’ll get some sleep!”

Something about the way he said it sounded fake.

Okay. What the actual fuck is happening? Why is Izuku acting so weird? To be fair, he hasn’t been acting ‘normal’ ever since they joined 2a, but not as weird as he is right now.

Was it Katsuki? Had he said something shitty?

If he had, he didn’t realise. He sometimes says things he doesn’t mean. It kind of just comes out. That’s just the way he is and there’s no fixing that about it. But he could at least try: for Izuku’s sake.

He scoffed and started walking towards the entrance of the dorms.

“Hey Izuku?”

Their eyes met again.

He needed to stop doing that.

“Yeah Kacchan?”

He hesitated a bit before saying,

“Do get some sleep, ok?” And with that he entered the dorm, without the freckled boy anytime to reply.

As he closed his room’s door, something hit him.

“Ah shit.”

He forgot to get his AirPod back from Deku.

He was feeling way too tired to go all the way to the nerd’s room just to ask him something he could ask him tomorrow.

Yeah.

He’d just ask him tomorrow.

Huh? Katsuki tried to say, but couldn’t. He felt like someone had pulled out his voice with their bare hands.

His throat was throbbing really badly and his vision wasn’t clear.

It slowly became more focused and in front of him, he saw a silhouette . Laying on the floor…?

Eager to see what it was, he made his way towards the body.

Everything around him was quiet, blank. Only him and that unknown figure.

Ok.

His sight was all cleared.

As he got closer, it hit him like a pile of bricks.

D-Izuku? He wanted to say. It frustrated him further but that soon was replaced with horror.

A bloody Izuku layed on the ground. His body looked so pale and his eyes so lifeless.

Bakugo raced towards him, sitting next to him.

One hand supported his head and the other placed on top of his chest.

“Izuku!” His voice. It was back.

“K-Kac…chan..?” The boy said, his voice raspy and shaking.

“What the fuck happened? Who did this to you?”
Katsuki had so many questions but he didn’t want to overwhelm the trembling Deku.

“Shiga…raki. Y-You c..ame t-too la-”

“Don’t. Stop talking. You're obviously in a lot of pain. Where are we?”

“I du-dun..no”

“Shit. This is bad. This is really bad.”

“Ka…chan.”

“What are we gonna do? Where are the pros? Where the fuck is the rest of class? How could they let this happen to you? Fuck them. Where is shigaraki? Oh, im gonna fucking kill him. Wait and see Izuku. I can’t let this hap-”

“Kacchan!” His voice sounded like he was in serious agony.

“Yeah?”

“It’s n-not your fa…ult.”

He froze.

What does he mean?

Of course it’s his fault. He didn’t come in time. He couldn’t protect Izuku. Now he was dying in his fucking arms. How could he let this happen?

Suddenly, the blonde felt a hand cup his cheek, wiping something away from his face with their thumb.

He was…crying?

He was so busy thinking of ways to help Deku that he didn’t notice the pool of tears running down his face.

“Please d-don’t cry k..acchan. F-f-for me?”

His heart dropped at that sentence. For him?

Then, unexpected flashbacks of the younger selves of izuku and him ran through his head.

It hu-hurts Kacchan!

I'm only putting a bandage on it silly

It still hurts though!

Don’t cry, Izuku. For me?

O..k.

Fuck.

“I’m not crying, you are.” He found himself saying.

Izuku let out a small chuckle.

“Sur..e K-Kacchan.”

“How are you so calm about this whole thing?”

The freckled boy’s smile faded.

“Well,” he continued, “I know I-I’m gonna die, yes. B-but atl…east Kacch…an’s here.”

Katsuki frowned.

“How can you say that? You idiot”

He winced before saying,
There was a long, uncomfortable silence as the blonde took all that information in.

Ok. Izuku is dying right in front of him but it feels like his legs cannot move. He’s too shaken to get up and find a pro hero or atleast fight shigaraki.

A gentle nudge disrupted his thoughts and he looked back at the dying boy.

“Kacch…an…?

“Hmm?”

There was hesitation in the boy’s voice; after a short while, he found himself saying,

“I thin…k I’m fading aw-away.”

Bakugo looked at Izuku’s legs and a white mist was slowly overtaking him.

Shit.

“The fuck. You can’t give up. Keep fighting, nerd. Keep fighting dammit!” He cried, he can’t lose Izuku. Not like this.

However, his childhood friend, who’s tears were making his eyes glimmer, gently rubbed the blonde’s cheek.

“I’m gonna mi…ss you.”

No way he actually was about to give up.

“Te-tell my mom ...I love h…er.”

“No dammit!”

What about all the time they’d spent together? What about competing on each other's heels? Weren’t they going to surpass all might together? They had their whole life ahead of them and they were going to spend that together, but not after this. He…loves him.

The mysterious mist reached his chest, causing Katsuki’s hand to faze through.

“I….love you.” By the time the sentence was finished, Izuku had already disappeared. Completely.

No. No. No. No.

He finally knew where he was. The battlefield was finally becoming more visible: so was his surroundings.

But he didn't care. He had bigger problems.

He lost the one person who he truly loved. What was he going to do now?

What was he going to do without him?

Katsuki’s eyes shot open.

He lifted himself up from his position with his hand placed on top of his chest- which was pacing up and down because of the sudden shock.

What kind of dream was that?

The boy stood up from his bed and walked towards his study desk to check his phone.

6:13

He had two hours till class started so he was planning to do a quick morning workout but…

The dream.

That’s all that was going through his head.

What does that mean? Is Izuku not ok?

Then, the boy felt the sudden need to check on him. Yes, it was just a dream but it could’ve had a deeper meaning to it.

Already halfway to Midoriya’s room, the thought of this ‘dream’ made Katsuki sick.

His own friend died in his arms, and he couldn’t even do anything about it.

Just watched as the tears rolled down both their faces. It was terrifying.

His lifeless eyes met his.

His cold hand soothing his cheek so tenderly; so affectionately.

Fuck.

He said he loved him.

And, of course, he loved him back. But. What if he meant something else?

Something more intense.

Like a genuine love for him.

Wait.

What was he thinking?

He should just get to his dorm and check on him. If he disappeared, he would make sure he found him so that he could kill him after.

There.

The blonde quickly grabbed a jacket and sprinted out of his room, like his life depended on it.

He would never forgive himself if he lost Izuku like that.

He swore to protect him at all costs; losing him like this would first, make him look stupid. Second, he would never forget it.

But what if he’s just overthinking this?

If he was completely honest with himself, it was just a dream that could mean absolutely nothing and he was just making a big deal over something that hasn’t even happened.

What if Izuku was still asleep, soundly on his stupid All-might bed?

Dreaming about being a hero and all that shit that he dreams about.

What if he’s already getting ready for school and Bakugo just walked in on him half-naked?

That would be so embarrassing.

No.

He was not risking any chances.

He was not leaving Izuku- not again.

The boy had slowed down earlier so it took him a short while to get there.

Katsuki found himself standing in front of the boy’s dorm’s door.

A large ‘Midoriya’ was hanging on it. On the sign, there were a few All-might stickers and some silly doodles that didn’t seem to belong to Izuku.

Ok.

He reached out to the door, ready to knock on it, until he had paused.

Both his hands were trembling. As if he had just seen a ghost.

Breathe. Just breathe. You are the Katsuki Bakugo. You can handle just checking on Izuku. Right?

Knock, Knock, Knock.

He kept his arm in the same position, in case he needed to knock again (which seemed to be the case since no one was responding.)

Bakugo knocked on the door again, a little harder this time.

No response.

Ok. He was getting more paranoid.

Just about as he was about to knock for the last time, the door swung open.

He was greeted with the freckled boy standing in front of him, rubbing his eyes.

His hair was messy and he was wearing All-might pyjamas.

So… Katsuki might have just woken the nerd up, but it was for a good reason!

“Kacchan…?” Izuku said, looking up at the blonde, still rubbing his eyes.

Shit.

What was he going to say to him? ‘Oh hey Izuku I just had a dream that you were dying in my arms and when I woke up I had the sudden urge to check on you because I was scared that you might’ve not been ok. You also said you love me so I just wanna ask if it’s platonic or romantic but I’ll be fine with both.’

Well, maybe not that last bit.

But seriously, what was he meant to say?

AirPods.

“AirPods.” He spurted out after a while of awkward silence.

A confused expression grew on the green-haired boy’s face.

“Air…pods?” He said, sounding more sober.

“My Airpod. You didn’t give it back yesterday. I want it back.”

“Oh! Yeah. It’s over here. I’ll get it for you.” disappearing into the room.

I mean.

Atleast Izuku was okay.

That was a close call.

But…

What if he had actually said that? What would Izuku’s reaction be? Oh God. Would he be disgusted? He didn’t even think about that.

If Izuku ever found out about this dream, he’d probably won’t ever talk to him.

Fuck.

What if he told him he said he loved him?

He didn’t even say ‘I love you’ back.

Katsuki is gonna hate himself for doing that.

Even if it was just a dream, he was kind of stupid for not saying I love you back.

But that wasn’t his fault. The nerd was disintegrating in front of his eyes; in his arms for fucksake. He didn’t have time. Plus he had bigger problems in his hands: literally.

The boy had arrived with what Bakugo asked for just after that thought.

“There you go.” He said putting the ear piece into Katsuki’s palm.

“Sorry I couldn’t give it back yesterday. You went back to the dorms before I even had the chance to. I swear that I was planning to give it to you before class started! I was,” Izuku exclaimed whilst waving his hands about.

“But it seems like you beat me to it. Classic Kacchan.” The way he said it sounded as if he was overestimating Katsuki. Don’t get him wrong, he loved the praise, especially Izuku’s, but why did he have to put it like that?

“Tch. Whatever. Thanks I guess.”

“No problem. Well, see you in class!”

Katsuki looked at Midoriya giving him the slightest smile before leaving him with a, “See you later.”

He didn’t even get the chance to look at the nerd’s face.

Bet it looked stupid.

A cute stupid

When he arrived at class, it was empty (as usual).

Bakugo liked arriving before everyone so there were no extras annoying him this early in the morning.

The blonde walked over to his desk, set his books down on his desks and read a few pages of his notes.

Deep down, Bakugo knew he was a nerd.

Not a ‘nerd’ exactly but he took his studies seriously.

Top of his class in hero work, talent, looks and brains.

You can’t be pretty and dumb can you?

A couple of minutes into reading, Todoroki and Iida come into the class.

“Good morning Bakugo!” Tenya uttered once he had seen his classmate.

Katsuki just let out a small groan.

And, as expected, the IcyHot bastard didn’t even bother to make an effort to say hello. How rude.

After a few more minutes, half the class had already arrived. But something was off.

Izuku hadn’t come yet. He’d normally come with Pink cheeks or something but he wasn’t here.

He had to come to class today since he just talked to him earlier. Maybe he was just sick. Or worse. Maybe something had happened to him…

No.

There’s no way.

He’s just sick. Everything was fine and Katsuki did not need to have a panic attack in the middle of class over something that probably isn’t even that serious. Well he hoped it wasn’t serious.

A cold sweat rolled down from his neck into his body. Why was he so disturbed?

Of Course he cared about Izuku, but no one else seemed to worry so much about him not being in class.

But, unlike them, Katsuki paid attention to the nerd.

Maybe a bit too much attention; he knows his full name, birthday and favourite food, which is alright, but he also knows how many freckles he has, what he wrote in his first notebook, the day he decided to become a hero, his first ever hero name and he was there for his 5th birthday.

Katsuki thinks that it's just ‘normal friend behaviour’ but won’t tell anyone that he knows all that shit.

It’d be embarrassing.

Anyways, when Katsuki paid attention to Deku, he’d never forget the little things like what time he comes to school or his favourite All-Might junction he’s been to because…

Well.

Just because.

He enjoyed learning about Izuku and what he does just because.

His fucking phone’s homescreen is a picture of them as kids.

But he doesn’t know why.

Just…

Because.

“What's up, Bakugo!” Katsuki turned his head to see Kirishima entering a classroom with a bright, beaming smile.

The blonde just rolled his eyes and continued what he was doing.

He couldn’t see Kirishima coming towards him.

“Hey! What’s with the gloomy face?” His friend asked with a hint of concern in his tone.

“Nothing. You're just so…,” He looked him up and down with a disgusted look, “Happy.”

Eijiro was silent for a moment before wrapping his arm around Katsuki’s shoulders.

Smiling.

“Oh Bakugo. You poor thing. Must be craving for some eh em. Fun!” He stated as he got up from his position.

“So… Comewithmeminaandkamanaritothewinterfestivalsinceyourlifeislikesoboringandyouneedabreakafterthewarandanoppurtunitylikethisis-” He took a breath, “likeoneinaneternitysopleasepleasepleasebakubro. For us…?”

Bakugo scoffed.

“You're still talking about that winter festival shit?”

Kirishima frowned at his response since he had just wasted a lot of his breath trying to say that.

“Well duh! It’s a hot topic right now. Every class in U.A is talking about maybe going and it'll be fun!”

“Tch. That’s one of the reasons I shouldn't go.”

“What!”

“Too many damn extras.”

His friend sulked but a sudden determination washed over him.

“I am not giving up. You will be going to the winter festival. Mark my words!”

He stomped to his desk and crossed his arms above his chest, squinting his eyes, appearing ‘intimidating.’

Katsuki sneered.

Dumb shitty hair. Always finding a way to (try) involve him in unimportant social activities.

Boring things like hotpot dates with the gang, arcade trips, theme parks, movie’s or even sleepovers. As much as he actually enjoys doing things like that, he would rather do them by himself or with one friend. Too many people at once irritate or ‘overwhelm’ him.

Not exactly ‘overwhelm’ him. Just…

Oh.

I guess overwhelm is the right word. But he’d never tell anyone that. He didn't want to seem weak.

Katsuki was too busy in his own thoughts to realise that Aizawa had arrived to begin the class but there was no sign of Izuku anywhere.

So now he was getting worried.

“Morning class.”

“Good Morning sensei!” The majority of the class uttered.

“As most of you have noticed, Midoriya is not in class with us today.”

Katsuki immediately sat up straight and listened up. He was concentrating before but this piece of news would explain why Izuku wasn't here. Sensei seemed calm, meaning it wouldn't be anything serious.

But what if he was just putting on an act so that we would get worried.

He seems like the man to do that, right?

No.

He needed fate in Aizawa. What type of student would he be if he doubted his teacher.

But…He couldn't take any chances.

“Don’t panic. He’s alright.”

Okay.

That was a relief.

The boy relaxed his shoulders lightly, still waiting for his teacher to finish his announcement.

“Today, we are doing a practical and, since you all know about Midoriya…” He continued, “I told him there isn’t any bother in coming to today's lesson.”

Oh.

One for All is gone.

‘Deku’ is gone.

After he defeated shigaraki, he had to give up OFA: meaning he had to give up on his dream he worked so hard on, just so he could protect his friends.

His family.

His country.

The…world.

If Katsuki was him, he wouldn't be taking the loss well.

Maybe that explains why he’s been acting so weird lately.

Shit. He should probably ask him about that.

Other than All-Might, he is the only one he can talk to about OFA without leaving most of the important information out.

Oh my gosh. Why didn’t he think of that earlier? It only makes sense that Katsuki talks to him.

Fuck.

Maybe he’s been waiting for Katsuki to ask him about how he has been but he just never has.

Ok, he has asked about the embers but that doesn’t count.

Is he going to hate him?

He had acted annoyed earlier so he could possibly hate him. If Bakugo was him, he would be upset that Izuku, of all people, didn’t ask how he felt especially after just fighting a war, only recently turned 17 and watched my childhood friend dead, protecting Japan at all costs just to lose a quirk that wasn’t even his.

He would probably be frustrated that he didn’t get to pass on OFA; even though he would be honoured that it ended with him.

“Bakugo!”

The blonde flinched, his eyes wide open.

“Hah?”

“You need to get up. We are getting changed into our hero costumes, remember? For the practical.” Kirishima grabbed his upper arm, near his shoulder.

Katsuki didn't remember anything his teacher said (other than the shit about Izuku) so he was a little bit confused.

“You didn’t pay attention did you?”

“Of Course I have, Brains for Hair!” He bellowed, clenching his fists.

Kirishima let out a small chuckle which annoyed Katsuki- for no reason.

“C’mon, let’s go together aye?” the boy said, pulling bakugo, giving him no room for disagreeing.

Katsuki stood up, removed his arm from Kirishima’s grip and walked out of class with a slouched back and his hands in his pockets.

“Hey wait up!” The voice slowly became quieter as he walked until heard his footsteps catching up.

When he arrived next to the blonde, panting heavily even though Katsuki thought it was only a short run, his friend proceeded to say,

“Don’t do that! So not manly.” his palms ran across his face.

“Tch.”

“Anyways, did you hear about what Aizawa sensei said about Midobro?”

“Of course I did! I told you I was paying attention. Ya deaf or something?”

“Jeez. I was just asking. Infact, I was just about to tell you something that Sensei said about Midoriya which I think you didn’t catch.”

Katsuki looked at Kirishima, eager for his answer.

“Hah! Knew that would catch your attention.”

Katsuki frowned.

“Just say it dammit!”

“Ok. Ok. Did you hear him say that Midobro was allowed to come to the lunch rush since, well. So he doesn’t starve, obviously.”

“Tch. Of Course I knew that you idiot.” He turned back to facing the floor.

Actually, he didn’t know.

On the inside, he was really glad to see Izuku: plus, he would get a chance to talk to him about you know what.

“Oh. Anyways,” The way Kirishima changed subjects irritated him a little.

“How are your thoughts on the winter festival going?” He asked with the slightest hint of hope in his voice.

“Why can’t you invite other people? I'm not the only person who can go with you. Don’t you have the other members of the ‘Bakusquad’.”

“Yeah but, it's not the Bakusquad without the leader.”He said, nudging Katsuki’s arm.

“I really hate that name. Do you know that?”

“I had a feeling you did.” He teased.

“Tch.” Katsuki scoffed as he rolled his eyes.

“So, are you planning on talking to Midoriya at Lunch?”

“Why do you care?”

“Just curious.”

Ok.

That totally didn’t sound suspicious.

“What are you hiding?”

“Nothing! It’s just…”

“So you are hiding something.”

“No. That’s not it, Man. It's just…,” There was a pinch of hesitation in his voice, “The way you act towards Midobro is so different to the way you act towards the rest of 2a.”

“What the fuck?”

“I didn’t want to be the one to tell you but, we kind of think you have feelings for Mi-”

“Don’t.”

What the hell was Kirishima going on about? There is no way that Katsuki, the Katsuki Bakugo, had a crush on his childhood friend. It was impossible.

He had literally bullied him since they were brats. It makes no sense for him to suddenly have the hots for him.

“I was just saying! No gonna lie, but it was kinda obvious if you ask me.”

“Y-You don’t know what you're saying!” Ok. That was weird. Why the fuck did he stutter?

Was he really that flustered by the fact that he could, hypothetically, be crushing on Deku?

No. Shitty hair was just being shitty.

“Bastard.” Katsuki whispered under his breath, making sure that his friend didn’t hear him.

“What was that?”

“Nothing.”

“Think you have feelings for Mi-”

Bullshit.

What Kirishima said on their way to the changing rooms kept repeating in his head like a broken record.

Feelings? Nope. Not true.

Sure he loved Izuku, but not like that.

As a friend.

Katsuki hadn’t really thought about romance ever before in his whole life.

A few girls in his Junior High had given him some love letters or asked him out a few times but he never really took them into consideration.

If he was being honest with himself, he doesn’t even think he likes girls. That thought has actually gone through his mind a couple of times but since he didn’t care for it that much, the boy never really did anything about it.

He only focuses on his hero work and studies. Romance was a ‘comes when it comes’ sorta thing for him.

But what Kirishima said is so irritating that he can’t help but think about it.

Him? And Izuku? Together? In a Lovey-Dovey sappy way?

Oh.

The thought of him and Izuku being together wasn’t that bad. He wouldn’t mind it.

Wait. What the hell?

What is he thinking?

Ew. Him and Izuku would be such a weird couple. Especially after what Katsuki had done to him in the past.

Imagine dating your childhood bully.

What would others think about that?

Not like he cared about what others think, it just doesn't hurt to think about it.

Busy sounds of the cafeteria filled the atmosphere. The boy finally snapped out of his daydreaming and took notice of his surroundings.

“Then I said, ‘No, Denki. You can't electrocute the dorms without hurting anyone.’ Cause that's just stupid. It was 8pm by the way.” Jirou said.

“No it wasn’t! It was 7:47pm, for your information.” Kamanari concluded, waving himself around with his arms crossed above his chest.

“I mean that doesn’t make anything better bro.” Kirishima voiced.

Jirou was the only one who noticed Bakugo was paying attention to them.

“Ah Bakugo. Finally back to earth? How was Mars?”

Katsuki blushed out of embarrassment.

“Shut up Ears!”

“I bet he was thinking about nerdy stuff.”

“Wha-”

“No! He was probably thinking about Midoriya-kun. I mean he does crush on him.”

“Mina!”

Silence filled their table for a while. Katsuki was getting redder by the second but he couldn’t tell if he was angry or flustered.

Probably both.

Why does everyone think he likes Izuku? He hasn’t shown any sign of interest, has he?

People can’t assume shit like that. That's so immature.

He doesn't like him.

Noone can tell him otherwise.

Unless…

“Kirishima?” The blonde asked through gritted teeth.

His friends gulped.

“Y-Yes Bakugo?”

“Come with me.” And with that he grabbed his arm and dragged him out of the cafeteria.

“Oh no.”

“Mina! See what you’ve done. Now Eijiro is dead meat! What do you have to say for yourself?” Kamanari shouted but once he turned to look at the girl, she sat with her hands close together.

“What…are you doing?” Sero asked, concerned for his friend.

Mina looked up from her position to look at the others sitting on the table.

“Oh! Just praying for my boyfriend who literally got dragged out of the hall to ‘have a talk’ with the school’s most short tempered student!” She yelled looking terrified for our life.

“Nunca antes había visto a Mina tan nerviosa, debe estar muy asustada.” Hanta whispered to himself.

“Don’t worry bro, I'll pray with you.”

“Me too!” Denki added as he approached the two friends in their ‘prayers to save Kirishima’ ritual thingy.

Jirou just slowly got out of her seat to return her tray.

Back with the boys, Bakugo pulled Kirishima out of the Lunch Rush out into the halls where there were only a few people.

“Right. Why the fuck does everyone think i like D-Izuku?”

Eijiro, who was still shocked from being absolutely dragged to the corridors of U.A, took a few breaths to calm himself down.

“Bro…What are you…talking…about?” He said between breaths.

Katsuki ran a palm down his face in frustration.

“What our stupid friends said at the table. Remember?”

Realisation washed over the boy.

“Oh! That…”

An awkward silence followed after the boy said the sentence; Katsuki tapped his foot repeatedly and waited not so patiently.

“Remember earlier, when I said ‘We kinda think you have feelings for Midoriya.’ even though you didn’t let me finish the sentence,” Kirishima said that last bit quietly, “I said ‘we’ which meant it wasn’t just me who shipped you guys toge-”

“Wait a minute. Shipped? What do you mean shipped?”

“That doesn’t matter.”

“Oh I think it does.”

“Bakugo,” He said with a hint of warning in his tone.

“No dont ‘Bakugo’ me. I’m sick and tired of you guys thinking shit that isn’t even true! I don’t like Izuku!”

“Bakugo. I think you should stop.”

“And who are you telling me I should stop?”

Kirishima pointed his head behind Katsuki to signal there was someone standing behind him.

“Hah?” The boy turned around to see none other than Izuku standing there in his blue jacket and some long pants.

“Kacchan?” His voice slightly wobbly

Fuck.

“Izuku. Did you hear what I said?”

“N-no.” He sniffed.

“Shit. Look, I didn’t mean it like th-”

“No, no. It’s okay. I u-understand.” The freckled boy’s eyes were already becoming filled.

He was about to cry. Again.

The short silence was disturbed by Midoriya saying,“I, uh. I have to go.”

He quickly turned around and walked back towards the entrance of U.A.

Tch. What a drama queen.

Kirishima glared at him.

“What? He was a little bit dramatic.”

“I don’t know man. If I saw my childhood friend say they don’t like me anymore, I’d be pretty
upset too.”

“Yeah but I didn’t mean it like that. You know that!”

“But Midoriya doesn’t.”

As much as he hates to admit it, he’s right.

After spending so much time chasing after the one person he ‘admires’, then finally getting a chance to talk to them, only for him to be an asshole by saying he doesn’t like him, Katsuki would understand why he’d be upset.

But he didn’t mean it like that.

It’s not his fault that Izuku didn’t understand. Even though this might not be a big deal to Katsuki, it’s a big deal to Izuku.

He’s tried to be better, he really has! But everytime he does, it ends up failing miserably.

Maybe He and Izuku just weren’t meant to be friends.

No.

That’s stupid to think, right?

It wasn’t his fault Izuku mistook it but that doesn’t give him an excuse to not apologise.

Apologise.

That’s what he’s been doing though.

Ugh. This is infuriating.

“Everytime i think we are getting better, I always seem to ruin shit. It's so frustrating.” Katsuki sulked.

Kirishima frowned as he looked down at the floor.

“Sorry about that man but I'm not the best person you should really talk to. I won’t really help much with you and Midoriya’s situation. I think…”

“I think you're gonna have to do this on your own.”

“Tch. Whatever.” Katsuki scoffed before heading out.

His hands in his pockets.

Shitty hair is the dumbest person ever. How could he leave his literal friend to do something as serious as this by himself? Is he mad? Not like Katsuki couldn’t do it on his own, ofcourse, but Kirishima can’t just leave him on his own like that–especially not in the middle of the hall like that(even though Katsuki was the one to walk away)

Ugh. That thought just made Bakugo’s blood boil.

Fuck Kirishima.

Fuck himself.

And fuck fucking Izuku.

By the time he had arrived at the dorms, it was empty. Katsuki didn’t want to risk bumping into Izuku. Since he was the only person there, the nerd would obviously notice him so he had to go all the way to the stupid back and go through the emergency door.

What a waste of energy.

He still did it though.

But that same thing Kirishima said earlier found its way to taunt him again.

“Think you have feelings for Mi-”

Feelings? After what had just happened? Yeah no.

How? How on earth would he like Izuku? Especially after the asshole move that he just pulled.

Katsuki knows he didn’t mean it on purpose and that the smartass misheard them but still…

Ugh. So annoying.

These stupid thoughts. Why can’t they just have what they had a couple of minutes ago. Why does everything have to be complicated? Why can’t they just be friends? Why can’t Katsuki stop thinking about what Kirishima said?

“Think you have feelings for Mi-”

When the blonde reached his dorm, utter fear hit him like a truck.

“Izu..ku?”

What the fuck was he doing standing outside of his room?

Midoriya let out a small yelp before looking at Katsuki.

“Kacchan… I, uh, w-was just about to-to leave so… Justpretendlikenothinghappendsndthatiwasneverhereandthatidontexist. Okay bye!”

“Wait.”

The freckled boy slowly turned around, slightly trembling at what Katsuki was about to say.

“Y-Yea…?”

Katsuki took a deep breath. He might’ve overthinking earlier about Izuku being dramatic. If he wants their relationship to be better, he should be the one to start.

I mean, he was the one who was the asshole their whole life so it wouldn't hurt for him to apologise again, right?

“Think you have feelings for Mi-”

“I’m sorry.”

Izuku’s eyes widened. He was obviously surprised to hear Kacchan say that, which made the blonde feel even more bad for him.

“Wha?”

Katsuki rolled his eyes.

“I said I'm sorry. For earlier. I wasn’t thinking and, I think you might've misheard it because…”

Wait.

He wasn't just about to tell Izuku that people think that he has a crush on him.

He’d rather die.

“Because Kirishima was saying some shitty stuff ok? And I think I might have overreacted. I do like you. You're my closest friend and you’ve been with me the longest. Sure, I was being an asshole to you and I already apologised for that but I don't think you understood how sorry I was. Izuku, I am sorry. I'm trying to be better, I swear. You don't have to forgive me but i just atlea-”

“Kacchan!”

“Yeah?”

“I have already forgiven you.”

Oh.

Well he wasn’t expecting that.

To be honest, he should've. Izuku was always forgiving everyone.

“I was just a little shocked. B-But like you said, I must've misheard something.” He let out a fake chuckle.

“Wait Iz-”

“No. No. I, uh. I understand. It’s okay.”

Ok. Izuku was acting weird. Really weird. Actually, he’s been acting weird ever since war ended.

Katsuki is generally concerned for his mental health. He hasn’t been seen smiling in days. He looks like shit. There are eyebags forming underneath his eyes.

What the fuck, Izuku?

“Al…right? What were you about to do?” He nodded towards his door.

“Oh! I was, uh. Just about to ask you if, uhm. I just wanted to tell you that I wasn't mad at you. I suspected you might think that because of the way I acted so I was about to knock on your door b-but I think I calculated my timings wrong. You're, uhm. Obviously not in your room so it was good you came just in time. Ill, uh. Be taking my leave now. See you later.”

“Wait.”

The freckled boy looked straight into his eyes.

Why does he keep doing that?

“Why do you sound so…” The boy hesitated slightly, “nervous?”

Izuku looked down so Katsuki couldn’t see his ‘smile’ fade away. He shot his head back up to stare at Kacchan with another forced smile.

“What do you mean?” He said, sounding a bit panicky.

“See! You did it again. You're faking your smile and shit. You always sound so depressed and emo I don’t know. You’ve just been acting weird.”

“It's nothing Kacchan. Seriously.”

“Okay. Whatever you say.” He said, walking past Izuku and entering his dorm.

As soon as Katsuki slammed the door, he jumped onto his bed, still thinking about his conversation with the boy.

It's nothing Kacchan. Seriously.

Bullshit.

Ugh. Everyone is being so annoying today.

“Tch.” He groaned as he reached out for his phone to check on some notifications. He saw a few texts from Kirishima but he didn’t have the strength to text back. Most of them were asking Katsuki if he had fixed things with the nerd (he’s not sure himself) and the others were asking about the stupid winter festival.

What even is it? Why did Shitty hair want him to go with them so badly? How important was it to him that he had to beg every single second they were together?

Katsuki decided to do some research. He didn’t know that much about it so he might not get a lot of information.

He got himself on a website talking all about the winter festival.

‘The Musutafu Winter Festival! Next weekend: Open from 09:00 am - 20:30 pm. Rides, Snacks, Games and an exclusive All-Might teamed Ice rink! Bring your special one, family and friends over and have a festive time! Ticket links down below.’

“Special someone?” He repeated to himself quietly.

“Tch.” Not only was this for friends, there would be lots of sappy couples. Sharing food, holding hands, hugging and…

Ew.

Katsuki didn’t even want to think about that last bit.

But that AllMight rink, that was the one Kirishima was talking about. Right.

The blonde chuckled.

I know someone who would love that rink. He thought.

Wait a minute.

Is he suggesting that, just maybe.

No.

That’s dumb.

Never would he ever take Izuku there. Just the two of them.

Just Izuku and Katsuki.

At the Winter festival.

Sharing food, holding hands, hugging and…

The hell

Why was he thinking about that?

If himself and Izuku were to go together, what would people think?

Fuck. They’d think they were dating.

Imagine him and Izuku together. Like as boyfriends.

The two of them cuddling, holding hands, compliments, playing with eachothers hair, talking about those feelings shit and k-.

Ok. He needed to stop there.

Thinking about Izuku and himself doing sappy things like that was a bit weird.

Then, suddenly, what Kirishima said to Katsuki hit him again.

“Think you have feelings for Mi-”

It’s been going through his mind so much and he doesn’t even know why it bothers him so much.

Those dumb words that don’t mean anything. Well, they shouldn’t mean anything.

Even if Katsuki were to like Izuku in that way, would Izuku like him back?

After everything he did?

After everything he said?

Take a swan dive of the roof of the building

Did he even like boys for fucksake?

After all the abuse, the neglect, the names, the arrogance.

Katsuki could go on and on why they shouldn’t be together but…

Izuku still loved him.

He said he loved him–even if it was just in his dream. What could that mean?

That he loves him romantically?

No.

Love isn’t just a romantic thing so he shouldn’t get his hopes up. He shouldn’t even be thinking about this shit. It’s weird.

Deep breaths.

It didn’t even matter anymore because Katsuki was beginning to get tired.

Quickly turning his phone off, he looked outside the window from his bed–it was still quite bright out but the orange, pinky skies should be coming soon.

He threw himself back and got into his thick, black duvet. He’d normally have a thin blanket but since it was winter, he got it out. Katsuki liked to sleep with a hot water bottle since it made him feel warm and comfortable, especially because of the weather. This made him fall asleep easier.

His eyelids slowly closing together, he took one last big breath before falling asleep.

Katsuki let out a small groan as he forced his eyes open.

“Ugh.” He grunted.

Running a hand through his messy bed hair, he reached out to his desk for his phone to check the time.

23:19

That irritated the boy. Why did he have to wake up so damn early?

He slapped the phone back onto the table and buried his face in his pillow.

However, his throat begged for a nice, cool glass of water to relieve its aching but Katsuki was feeling lazy.

Still, his desire was spiteful so he finally gave in and got off the bed.

The sudden chilled air meeting his skin caused a shiver to run down his spine.

It had barely been 1 minute and Katsuki already wanted to go back to bed but he had already come this ‘far’.

By the time he began walking towards his door, he’d already gotten used to the cold.

Walking down the dark, silent corridors, he abruptly felt a sense of suspicion.

He wasn’t alone.

It couldn’t be.

There’s no way.

How could a villain have snuck into the dorms? Didn’t U.A improved its security ever since the war?

But…

No.

No losing faith in the school again. That only leads into some crazy shit. Just breathe Katsuki. You're overreacting again.

He walked closer to the kitchen to see a black silhouette. The blonde couldn’t quite make out if that was a villain or one of their classmates.

Approaching the figure, he was starting to make sense of who the person was.

“Izuku…?”

Izuku, who was obviously alarmed by the sudden noise, threw himself around to see what had caused it.

A sense of relief washed over him as he realised it was just his childhood friend.

“Oh my gosh, Kacchan you scared me!”

He chuckled.

“All I said was your name, Idiot.”

“Yeah but it was so sudden!”

“Mhm. Yeah. Anyways, what on earth do you have on your face?” The boy noticed the pink and green goo applied on his face: he was guessing that that was one of the facials he bought yesterday.

The nerd’s face turned a rosy red colour as he stuttered, “Ah! Well I, uh. I just wanted to try out the facemasks the girls had suggested since i didn’t w-want to waste any..thing. Ashido-kun said I had got the wrong kind so I-I just thought, since no one was planning on using it, that I could maybe, uh. Try…it…on…myself?”

“Pft. You look like raccoon eyes.”

Izuku pouted.

“Well then I must look pretty.”

Katsuki did not like that response.

The fuck he mean ‘I must look pretty.’?

“She has a boyfriend by the way.”

“Huh? What!”

Great. He was about to get all flustered again.

“N-No! That's n-not what I meant! I ju..st mean she’s p-pretty. Not in that way!”

Izuku never complimented Bakugo’s looks.

What the fuck.

“Yeah whatever.”

“What are you doing down here, Kacchan?”

“Water.”

“Oh. Me too. I felt really thirsty.”

“Mhm.”

Katsuki got a glass cup out of the cupboard and poured a water bottle into it. It was straight out the freezer meaning it would be extra refreshing.

He drank so roughly that a few drops of water trickled down his neck.

“You know. You could drink properly right?” Izuku slapped his mouth shut after realising what he had just said.

Katsuki looked at him and glared into his green, worried eyes.

“Feeling bold now huh?”

“Kacchan, I swear I didn’t mean to it just slip-”

“I know.”

Silence.

Did Katsuki mess up again?

“What… Do you mean?”

Wait. This is his chance. This is his chance to ask him why he’s been acting so weird.

This is his chance to see what he can do to get the old Izuku back; the happy, nerdy, bubbly and full of life Izuku.

The one who’d smile at the darkest of times.

The one who never hesitated when he spoke from his mind.

The one who wasn’t always rethinking before he said something.

The Izuku that everyone knows and loves.

His Izuku.

Katsuki took a deep breath. He could not mess this up. All he ever does is mess things up whenever Izuku is involved.

He can finally prove that he has changed or well, can change.

Here goes nothing.

“I mean, I understand why you said that without thinking. You’ve changed. And I want to know why.”

Nailed it.

Izuku looked down at his feet.

Wait a minute.

Did he say the wrong thing?

Fuck.

No way he had messed things up again.

“De-Izuku. What’s wrong?”

“I’ll tell you.”

Katsuki’s eyes widened– a sparkle twinkled in his iris.

So he didn’t mess up?

“But…Not here please. Can we go to my room?”

“Oh, uh. Sure.”

Izuku looked up at Katsuki, giving him the fabricated smile before signalling him to start walking– The blonde noticed the dark bags underneath his eyes. To be honest, it wasn’t only the freckled boy’s actions that were out of the ordinary, but his health doesn't seem very well either.

The walk to his room was quiet, giving Katsuki time and space to think.

He finally got a chance to understand the reason Izuku was so weird.

And then he’ll fix it. And they could go back to how things were before (well almost)

But…

What if…

What if he hears something he isn’t supposed to? Or what if he is told something that should've stayed a secret.

Nah.

Katsuki is Izuku’s best friend (or so he thinks) and Bakugo wasn’t a crybaby. He wouldn’t be bawling his eyes out because of something that probably isn't that serious.

Wait.

He shouldn’t make assumptions. That could make him believe something that isn’t true. Better to be safe than sorry.

It’s so weird that he wanted to go somewhere private. I mean, Katsuki actually liked that idea because the last thing he would want is an extra disrespecting his boundaries and being an intrusive dickhead.

What Katsuki should really be asking is why does Izuku want to go somewhere private?

The boy wouldn’t normally do such; not from Katsuki’s perspective.

Damn this walk was long.

Where were they even going?

Simultaneously, as the blonde thought that, the boys had just arrived at the door of Izuku’s room. The fugly sign displayed on it.

Opening the door, Katsuki noticed his gloomy expression hadn’t changed. Now he was fucking with him. One time he’s all smiley and cheery, the others he’s all depressed and emo. Katsuki better not have chosen the wrong decision by asking. It’s been bothering him for…

Well.

Ever since the war had ended.

Izuku had just been so different. Yes, he’s already said this earlier, but now that he’s right in front of him: Izuku. The boy who was forced to fight in a war at the fresh age of 17. The boy who was unqualified to be doing the pro heroes work. The boy who is(was) the successor of the most powerful quirk which has been passed down for many years– who, later on, lost it because he tried to protect Japan. The boy who was(is) literally quirkless for most of his life. The boy who chased after his stupid childhood friend because they were insecure. The boy who would do anything for his friend who neglected him. The boy who still loved the same person who told him to kill himself.

Take a swan dive of the roof of the building

“Kacchan? Are you coming?”

Katsuki snapped out of it. He’d been unintentionally ignoring Izuku for what seems to have been a while.

“Ah. Yes.” He blundered practically speeding into the freckled boy’s dorm to try and ignore looking him in the eye after that humiliating scene.

A faint chuckle from the nerd behind him made his stomach flutter.

What the fuck?

Katsuki just made himself at home even though he doesn’t come here often. He sat on the bed, legs in a comfortable position whilst the other walked towards him to say,

“Well. I, uh. I'm gonna wash this off then I'll get back to you.” giving the same deceptive smile he gave earlier.

“Ok.”

Tch.

Izuku walked into his bathroom giving Bakugo time to acknowledge the heaps of AllMight merch arranged around every corner he looked at.

AllMight figures, AllMight cosplays, AllMight posters, AllMight stationary, AllMight Plushies.

He even had an AllMight themed bed for fucksakes.

Maybe Katsuki had assumed that the nerd might have grown out of it but he was AllMight’s biggest fan after all.

Ok. Now just thinking the word AllMight made his tongue feel bitter.

No thinking about you know who anymore.

Gosh. That felt so weird to think. Not talking about you know who.

Memories of when he was little hit him.

“Did you see him? He was so cool!”

He told Izuku who was also fanboying with him.

“He did a punch then a pow! And that villain was like ‘bleh’ and it was so awesome!”

“Yeah Kacchan! I wanna be just like him.”

Katsuki frowned.

“No deku.”

His friend pouted at his response, irritating him.

“What! Why not?”

“Cause you’re gonna be my sidekick dummy.”

“Oh. Yeah!”

“Mhm. We’ll be God King and Mighty Boy.”

“Yeah!”

“Im God King by the way.”

“Yea- Wait why?”

“Cause I said so.”

“No fair!”

“But it sorta sounds like AllMight.”

Deku relaxed his shoulders.

“That’s true… Wait!”

“What now deku?”

“I have a better name.”

“Spit it out!”

“Okay Okay. How about King and King?”

“Isn’t it meant to be King and Queen?”

Izuku blushed.

“Yeah but I'm not a girl. Neither are you!”

“True. But it’s an ugly name.”

“Mean.”

“Brat! Both you and Izuku get inside. It’s lunch!”

“Awh.”

“Tch. We’re coming!”

“What is Auntie making today?” The freckled boy said as he walked alongside him. Deku always loved his mom’s cooking.

“Dunno. It better be something good.”

“But Kacchan, your mom’s cooking is the best!”

“No, that's just cause you'll eat anything.”

“Not true! I just hope it’s Katsudon.”

“Why do you like Katsudon so much?”

Izuku blushed.

“It’s because it sounds like your name a little.”

“Kacchan…Katsudon. No it doesn't!”

“No, not that name. Your real name.”

“Katsuki?” The boy nodded.

“That’s so sappy.”

“I don’t think it is.”

Katsuki gave Deku a weird look.

“You're so weird, Deku.”

Izuku was standing in front of him staring into his eyes.

He must've zoned out.

“What are you doing?” he spurted.

The boy flinched at the sudden sound of his voice.

“Ah. Kacchan, I was just…”

Izuku blushed.

“You looked so peaceful when you were zoned out. I just…didn’t want to disturb it.”

“Oh.”

Those were the only words that could come out of his mouth. As much as he wanted to say ‘Sappy’ or ‘You're an idiot’, he didn’t allow himself. He is trying to become better after all, right?

An uncomfortable silence overwhelmed the atmosphere making Katsuki feel awkward.

“Are you gonna say anything? You brought me to this room to have a talk right?”

Izuku’s embarrassed look withered away in a matter of seconds once he had heard it.

Realisation hit him.

“Ah. You were trying to avoid the conversation. That's why you didn’t ‘disturb’ me earlier?”

The boy nodded slowly.

“If you don’t want to talk about it, it’s fi-”

“No!”

Katsuki lifted a brow.

“So why aren’t you saying anything?”

“I just…” Izuku fiddled with the hem of his shirt, “I don’t know how to start.”

The blonde looked at him, gesturing to him to continue: he was generally intrigued by what Izuku had to say. At Least he’ll finally know why he was acting so weird. Why he was acting so differently. So not Izuku…

The nerd took a long breath before he uttered, “I..I just have so many things going in my head after the war. Like what happened with Shigaraki. I couldn't-” He paused, “I came late and you were on the floor,” His breathing had seemed to increase, “your eyes were so soulless. So lifeless. And then i- I,” The tears were already forming in his eyes. He was about to cry wasn’t he? The tone of his voice sounded so shaky and panicky. Not gonna lie, this scared Katsuki.

“I wanted to kill him, Kacchan! I- I'm a monster… Even Spinner said it. If i hadn’t lost c-control. If I hadn't been so an-angry. He would still be here. I’m being forced to live with the gu-guilt. The guilt of killing Tomura. I-I regret it so much. I wish…If things were different. If I had been bet-better. If I was quicker with Toga, none of this would’ve happened. How c-can I call myself a hero after what I did?”

His chest was pacing up and down but all Katsuki could do was stare.

That… was what he had been hiding…?

“Izuku…”

He felt like there was something stuck in his throat stopping him from talking. It was painful.

The blonde felt a sense of pity wash over.

Oh no. Katsuki hadn’t really thought this through. He wasn’t good at comforting people.

Think Katsuki, Think!

Wait…

The two of them cuddling, holding hands, compliments, playing with eachothers hair, talking about those feelings shit and k-.

Ok. So he wasn’t sure about doing the others (not like he would want to anyways) but cuddling.

Not cuddling but a hug.

He looked like he needed a hug. That was the only thing Katsuki could think of. Like he said he wasn't good at comforting people so this would have to do for now.

He looked back at the boy who was wiping his face and obviously holding in the remaining tears. Ok Katsuki. You can do this.

Bakugo opened his arms and Izuku froze.

The boy didn't know how to react to this response.

“K-K-Kacchan…”

“It’s fine.”

Taking one last deep breath, the nerd ran into Katsuki arms and bawled his eyes out. He wrapped his arms around Katsuki’s waist and dug his face into his chest.

Gosh, he cries a lot.

Tears soaked through his shirt but he couldn’t care. He caressed Izuku’s back as he sobbed relentlessly. He didn’t want to say anything in case he messed things up like he normally did; he wasn’t even thinking of what he was doing, he just did his best to care for his upset friend.

He ran his hands through his green curls and wiped the tears of his rosy, freckled cheek and stared deeply into his eyes, which gleamed like pearls. They looked so majestic.

Katsuki’s favourite colour was always green.

“Don’t cry.”

“Kacc…han.”

“No seriously, you're getting snot on my top.”

Izuku giggled as he got up from his position.

He sniffed, “Sorry Kacchan,” he said as he wiped some tear streaks away, “I guess I really am a crybaby.”

Katsuki frowned.

“Don’t say that nerd.”

Izuku tilted his head slightly which kind of annoyed Katsuki.

“I mean don’t say things like that. You have every reason to cry. You literally fought in a war and you only just turned 17. You had so much potential ahead of you but because of the shitty villains, you had to sacrifice a quirk that wasn’t even yours. One for All ended at you because they knew they didn’t have to put another child through all that. You should be proud of yourself. You saved us. The whole of Japan. And for you to be upset because of that shows how dumb you are. If you can’t see how important and amazing you are, I don't know what to do with you.”

Katsuki took a deep breath, not giving himself time to see Izuku’s face, before continuing, “You're so selfless that it worries me. You don’t think of yourself, you never do. You're the true definition of AllMights motto: Save to Win…”

“Win to save.” Izuku whispered under his breath.

“That's why i…” He didn’t believe he was about to say this but here goes nothing, “I admire you Izuku.”

The freckled boy’s face lit up.

“That’s why I envy you. You're so amazing and helpful. That’s why I looked down on you. I always thought that you thought you were better than me but I was obviously so blind to see that that’s just the way you are. So friendly. So kind. All the things that I wasn't. Sometimes, I still wonder if…

If I can still catch up to you, Izuku.”

Katsuki opened his eyes and saw more tears pour down Izuku’s face.

Is this boy a fountain?

“Are you seriously crying again?”

“Sorry,” He rubbed his eyes with his lower arm, “It’s just…I’ve never seen Kacchan so kind before. Well, except for the apology but this one is different.”

Katsuki scoffed.

“How so?”

The freckled boy rubbed the back of neck.

“Ah. I don’t know,” He sighed, “It just is.”

The blonde scrunched his nose.

“Tch. Everything is to you isn’t it?”

Izuku chuckled slightly as he crossed both his legs. They stared deep into each other's eyes, admiring the beauty of the unique colours. Admiring how the dark, forest hue enhanced the emerald shade. How he adored his rosy, freckled cheeks or his smile that radiates so beautifully.

How he loved that red always complemented the colour green.

How they were finally close to each other after years of neglect.

How, after his apology, they could finally be friends.

After he left U.A and left him that letter.

The letter…

His letter was different from the others. It was special.

It was just for him.

Katsuki loved that. He loved that people always think of them as the wonder duo. He loved that even Shigaraki knows how strong their bond is– their soulmates.

Wait.

Shigaraki.

Shit.

He forgot the real reason he was even in here.

“Anyways, are you gonna tell me more about your emo phase?”

“Hey! It's not emo. And I already told you. I mean there's not much I can remember.”

Izuku blushed.

“I have one in my head but it’s embarrassing…”

“Spit it out!”

“Kacchan! It’s embarrassing.”

“It probably isn’t even that bad. You're just being a coward.”

“Not true. If it was you then you wouldn’t want to tell me either.” He sulked.

“Come on D-Izuku. Just say it.”

“You promise not to be mad?”

“Yes.”

“Pinky swear?”

His friend lifted a wobbly pinky causing the boy to sneer.

“What are we? Five?”

“No! Just…You swear?”

“Yes, Yes. Now spit it out!”

“Okay…” Izuku took a long, deep breath before uttering.

“So you know how I went ballistic?”

“Yeah.”

“Do you know why I did that?”

“Because you saw everyone hurt and injured?”

“Not exactly,” At this point, Izuku was as red as a tomato, “Of course I was mad at Tomura for that but, it was someone else…”

“Someone…?”

“You.”

He froze.

Me? Why would Izuku go ballistic for him?

Okay maybe that one time at the camp when he was getting kidnapped by villains. And when he got practically impaled.

Infact, why did he even go ballistic for those reasons anyway? For him?

Those times and this time, he was getting hurt by villains but why was it only him he went ballistic for? Not IcyHot. Not RoundFace. Katsuki. The Katsuki who neglected him. The Katsuki who hated him. The Katsuki who looked down on him. The Katsuki who didn’t take his hand. The Katsuki who told him to kill himself.

Take a swan dive of the roof of the building

Why would he lose it for him? Why would he still love him?

Sometimes, Katsuki wondered if Izuku hit his head as a baby because how could he love his bully?

Is he a fucking masochist?

“What?”

“Are you mad?”

Idiot. How could he be mad when the person who he literally hated went ballistic because he was hurt?

“No. Are you mad?”

Izuku seemed a little shocked.

“Huh?”

“How can you ask if I'm mad at you for going crazy over me? That’s stupid. That’s dumb. You're so dumb.” The blonde didn’t even notice his face becoming hot and reddening.

Was he…blushing? For Deku?

Pft.

No.

“Kacchan. Stop.”

“No you stop. You're so kind it’s sickening.”

A smile was painted on the freckled boy’s face.

“Is that a compliment or should I be offended?”

“I don’t know. Shut up.”

“Don’t you want to know what else I have to say?”

“No.”

“It involves you.”

Katsuki glared at Izuku.

“Talk nerd.”

“Well. That wasn’t the only time I went crazy over you.”

Ok.

That wording was a bit weird.

Izuku blushed after realising what he said.

“Ah. N-Not like th-that! I mean lose control!”

“Tch.”

“Do you know our hero training with class 2b back in the first year?”

The blonde thinks he knows where this is going but he just nodded.

“Black Whip…It uhm, unlocked when Monoma was talking bad about you.”

Oh.

That’s not what he thought he would say.

Izuku grabbed the closest pillow he could find and sunk his face into it. Katsuki didn’t even notice that he was blushing just as hard as his friend.

“You're so stupid, nerd!” He pouted, his face still bright red.

“I told you it was embarrassing!” the boy voiced. His voice was muffled through the large AllMight plushie he dug his face into.

“Whatever.”

A surprisingly comfortable silence consumed the dark room.

“So…” Katsuki found himself saying.

Izuku peeked from the abnormally large toy.

“Are you gonna stop being depressed now?”

“Ah. Well, now that I've talked about it, I guess I feel a bit better.”

“So I can leave?”

He really doesn’t want to but he didn’t want Izuku to feel like he wanted to be next to him every minute of the damn day.

That’s kinda coupley.

And they aren’t a couple.

Infact, they are nowhere near boyfriends and Katsuki wants it that way.

No cuddling, playing with each other's hair or talking about their feelings…

Wait a minute.

Oh shit.

He just did lovey dovey stuff with Izuku, out of all of people.

All he needed to do was the ki-

“No!”

“Hah?”

Izuku blushed.

“I mean, I’m not forcing you but I just don’t want you to leave. B-But you don’t have to of course! Kacchan can do what he wants.”

“Tch.” Katsuki scoffed as he laid back onto the bed with his hands behind his head.

“So…” He turned to face Izuku, “Is there anything else you wanna talk about?”

The boy shrugged.

“No. Well, i don’t think-” He cut himself off as his eyes widened, making Katsuki eager.

“Actually…I have this one thing I’ve been sorta worried about.”

“Mhm?”

“Uraraka-san…” He said as he looked down and gripped his ankle.

Both their breathing was steady and paced and they, again, stared into each other's eyes.

It was their way of communicating you could say.

“Do you remember…on the cliff. Uraraka-san was crying and I was comforting her?”

Katsuki nodded. He had no idea where this was going but decided to trust Izuku; he better not say some shitty thing that he would not have a good response for.

“She was crying because of Himiko Toga. I’m not sure if she’d let me say this but she thinks she has fallen in love with her.”

Katsuki shot up the bed and choked on the air. Pink cheeks? In Love with a Villian? Didn’t she like Izuku? Not like he cares or anything but when? Where? Why?

“Hah?!”

“K-Kacchan! Calm down!”

“I am calm!”

Izuku rolled his eyes, “That reaction was over dramatic.”

“Tch. No it wasn’t.”

“Yes it was! Love isn’t something you can control. When she had that fight with Himiko, she realised the truth. That, even with all the bad things she has done, she was still a teenager like us. Not like I agree with what she did and I don't think Uraraka having feelings for a villain is the best idea but I, as her friend, will support her choice!”

Love isn’t something you can control.

Love isn’t something you can control.

Something you can’t control…

Him and Izuku.

“Anyways, it really inspired me.”

“What do you mean by that?” Katsuki wasted no time to reply which, honestly, shocked Izuku.

Why was his words really affecting him?

“Oh uhm. T-The way she talked about her–with so much love and, and…”

Izuku’s face turned red.

Is he…blushing for her?

“Affection. It was so beautiful. It’s a shame that she couldn’t save her. They would've been the cutest pair, really! And, I don't know much about Himiko’s quirk but she can transform into different people I’m sure so their quirks could've worked really well together. Also th-”

“Are you gonna stop being such a simp for Pink cheeks already?”

Izuku turned and raised a brow.

“What…?”

Katsuki scoffed, “It’s obvious you’re crushing on her. The way you're talking about her isn’t just because she’s your friend.”

“N-No!” The nerd waved his hands about and shook his head, “You’ve got it all wrong! I just wanted to talk about it since you asked.”

“Tch. Whatever sappy.”

“You're so frustrating.”

What the actual fuck?

“Hah?”

“Sorry Kacchan. I didn’t mean it like that. It’s just that sometimes you’re really nice to me and others you're like, well, this.”

Rude.

“What do you mean ‘this?’”

Why did that make his heart drop? Why did it make his palms sweaty? Why did it make his chest ache? Why did it make his eyes wet? Why did it make him not feel okay?

Is it because he has been trying his hardest to be better towards Izuku but he can’t see it? Or the fact that they keep doing things that are sending him mixed signals? Or the fact that he’s jealous that he is so in love with Pink cheeks? Or that he actually loves Izuku in that way but he’s too stupid to accept it?

Feelings are stupid. Love is stupid. Pink cheeks is stupid. The dumb nerd is stupid. And Katsuki is stupid.

He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn’t even see the boy looking at him with a worried face.

His voice slowly became louder as he yelled, “Kacchan!”

“Yeah?”

Relief washed over Izuku.

“Phew. I thought you died there for a second!”

“Tch.”

“Were you paying attention to what I said?”

“No.” He turned to his side.

“I'm going to sleep.”

“Oka-” Izuku was about to lie down until he realised.

“Wait, Kacchan?”

“Yeah?”

“Uhm…Don't you think it's uh, a bit weird that we are sharing one bed?”

“Not if you make it weird.”

“But uh, it isn-” He paused, “You know what, yeah you're right. I'm not gonna make this weird.”

“You better not. Plus, don’t dare snore.”

“I don’t snore!”

“Yes you do! I can hear it all the way from my room!”

“Uhm, Nuh uh! You're messing with me.”

“Yeah right.”

Izuku moped before turning his back on Katsuki.

“Hey! What’s that for?”

“For saying I snore when I know I don't.”

“Ugh. You're such a baby.”

“No I'm not!” He turned back at Katsuki who stuck his tongue out.

“Whatever, just go to damn sleep.”

The nerd laid back on the bed, his legs curled up against his chest like a foetus.

The way he laid was kind of cute.

Shut up Katsuki.

Now that he actually thinks about it, why was he allowing himself to lie down in Izuku fucking Midoriya’s bed?

Isn’t that what couples do?

Don’t couples sleep next to each other?

Isn’t that what they are doing right now?

Why does he care so much?

It’s not that big of a deal, right?

He’s just in the same bed as his rival. Sleeping with each other.

Sleeping with each other…

Fuck no.

No fucking way was he thinking about…

Why is he so bothered about this?

Not like he likes him or anything. He likes Pink cheeks.

Right.

Right…

Right…?

“Think you have feelings for Mi-”

Feelings?

He really doesn’t want to admit it but he thinks he has feelings for Izuku.

And not just the feelings you have for a close friend or mother. Like the type of feelings you have when you want to hold hands with the person. Or share food with. Or hug. Or ki-

The sound of his freckled friend’s humming became more prominent.

“Do you ever shut up?”

“Huh?”

“I'm not deaf you know.” His friend said something that he couldn't quite make out, “What was that?”

“Nothing!”

“Tch. What are you even humming anyways?”

“My favourite song!”

“Which is…?” Katsuki said, sounding a bit impatient.

“Ah. Well, you’ll say it’s sappy.”

“How do you know that?” He raised a brow but Izuku couldn't see that.

“It’s a uh, love…song…”

“Oh.” Katsuki actually liked love songs but no one but him knows that.

Silence for a bit.

“Go to sleep.”

Izuku didn’t even protest this time, he just turned around and stopped humming.

“Yeah, I'm tired too.”

Katsuki shut his eyes, trying to block any shitty thing that was trying to disturb his beauty sleep. It is probably 12 am by now. He was going to be exhausted by tomorrow.

“Goodnight Kacchan.”

“Night nerd.”

Now I believe

La-La-La-La-La I sing a song like this

With the one I was desperately looking for

My, oh my, oh my, oh my love

Be my only love (My only love)

Every step we take

It’s like a dance we perform together

My, oh my, oh my, oh my love

Be my only love

Katsuki slowly opened his eyes to reveal a bright, light shine right at him.

“Huh?” he whispered.

This wasn’t his room but it felt familiar.

As soon as his vision was becoming clearer, he turned his head to see where in the hell he was.

Green hair? Izuku?

His body was wrapped around Katsuki’s, his hand was buried in the blonde’s golden locs and his other was enveloped around his waist, pulling him closer to the freckled boy.

His legs were clinging onto him like a koala and his mouth was slightly open with drool running down the side of it.

Wait.

Why on earth was he in bed with Izuku?

And why the fuck are they cuddling?

Don’t tell me…

No.

He tried not to let his mind wander into doing shit like that, especially since they aren’t even adults yet.

Katsuki looked down at the nerd’s face and saw his eyes were still closed shut; since he wasn’t a monster, he chose not to throw Izuku off the bed and wake him up.

Imagine what he’d say if he knew what they were doing. Katsuki had to get out of bed slowly and quietly—it would be humiliating if Izuku saw they were sharing one bed. The boy could barely recall what they’d been doing yesterday, except for their talk. After that, everything seemed to have just been a blank.

First, he slowly removed his hand out of his hair, giving him space to move his head around freely. Then he wriggled himself out of Izuku’s ‘grasp’ making sure not to shake the bed as much.

Once he sat up, he felt a warm, soft hand grab his.

Shit.

“Kacchan…?”

His heart was pounding in his chest as he looked back at the other.

He nodded.

“Are you…leaving?”

Uhm. What the fuck?

Of course he was fucking leaving. What else would he be doing? Well, fortunately for him, the nerd had woken up just as he was about to get off the bed.

“Yeah. Go back to sleep.”

Those were the only things he could say. What would you expect him to say? He can’t even imagine the worst scenario that could happen.

“What’s the time?” He asked, completely ignoring his statement.

Actually. He doesn’t know.

Katsuki got up from his bed and searched for his phone. He then remembered he didn’t bring it to the room with him so he had to check Izuku’s.

As the boy’s phone lit up, he was greeted with a picture of younger him and Deku as the Lock Screen.

Okay. That was weird.

“Wacchan!” Izuku shot himself off the bed and snatched the phone out of his hand, his face bright red with embarrassment.

“What?”

“I’ll just check the time,” he said as he looked down onto his phone, “10:15! Kacchan we are so late!”

“Huh? Why didn’t you wake me up earlier?!”

“I didn’t know! Why do I have to be responsible for your sleep schedule?!”

“I didn’t say that Kacch- Just calm down.”

“Tch.” Katsuki crossed his arms and relaxed his body slightly, but was still quite tense.

“Okay. Okay. What you need to do is leave and get ready fast and we can walk to class together okay?”

Katsuki just walked out of the room leaving a small ‘mhm’ before closing the door.

He took one deep and rested his back on a wall. He tried so hard not to lose it in the middle of Izuku’s room.

Katsuki Bakugo had just cuddled with Izuku. The Izuku Midoriya. The one who he thinks he has a potential crush on. The blonde already knew his face was brighter than a ruby-red gem. He was trembling in embarrassment.

That was kind of a big deal. Cuddling with his rival. How was the nerd so nonchalant about it? He looked like they’ve been cuddling many times before.

Ok.

He totally didn’t put that in a weird way.

Whatever! It’s fine. As long as no one knows about it, right?

Katsuki sprinted to his room and threw himself onto the bed and grabbed his phone. As soon as he opened it, he saw that the date was Saturday.

“Little bastard can’t read.” He said as he snuggled a pillow and wrapped himself in a blanket.

He was so telling shitty hair.

Katsuki: Oi

Katsuki threw his phone at his bedside and buried his face deeper into his pillow.

Why do things always have to be so difficult when it comes to Izuku?

Well, at least now he knows he’s in love with him.

Great.

“Ugh.” He groaned as he turned around into a more comfortable position. Love is so confusing. So frustrating.

Out of all the people. He had to fall in love with Izuku. That’s not fair. Nothing is ever fair. Life is unfair. Love is so stupid, but…

Love isn’t something you can control.

Love isn’t something he can control. Uraraka experienced love. Love for a villain. How can she love someone who has done so many bad things in this world? Someone who has done so many horrible things?

Like Izuku. The two are quite similar. They care for monsters. They look past their bad actions and love them for who they actually are, not what they’ve done.

Maybe he could get some advice from Roundfa-

No.

No. No. Never in a million years.

Not Roundface. Even though she could help uncover a bit of Izuku’s feelings since they were best friends.

Wait. It doesn’t matter. Izuku already loves her.

But…

He did say he loved him–even if it was only in a dream. It wouldn’t hurt to try.

Yes it would.

That was his intrusive thoughts speaking. He knows he is meant to ignore them but they've got a point.

No.

Oh but yes Katsuki. Izuku is already in love with Ochaco and she’s so clearly in love with him as well. You have no space to think you actually have a chance with Izuku. You're just stupid!

No.

Oh fuck no.

Katsuki wasn’t stupid.

The Katsuki Bakugo was not stupid. He was actually far from stupid. He was the future number 1 pro hero. And the future number 1 hero was going to march straight up to the girl and ask him what he wanted to–even if it means he would have to expose his feelings to her (maybe not that) and he will finally be free from this terrible stack of emotions he was feeling and ask Izuku out and be boyfriends and he’d be satisfied!

Right?

Right…?

Oh who was he kidding.

Why can’t he just go? It’s as easy as eating a slice of cake. So why can’t he do it? This is really getting on his nerves.

Why is Izuku his weak spot? Why can’t he just ask him out and call it a day?

He’s never been in a relationship before so, sure, he might not have any experience but it’s Deku we’re talking about.

It’s just different when it’s him. And Katsuki doesn't even know why. He’s said this before and isn’t afraid to repeat it but he trusts Izuku, with his life (literally) so why can’t he just do this?

Katsuki is really irritated. Like really.

“Ugh.” He moaned as he got up off the bed. After minutes of crying about Izuku, he needed a nice long shower. A warm one to take his mind off everything. His brain feels so worn out after that…meltdown.

Love is confusing.

As he put on a plain black t-shirt under his long, thick robe (which he wore almost 24/7), he heard a light knock on his door.

He crossed his fingers and hoped it wasn’t who he was thinking about. Katsuki slowly approached the door, his hand trembling, dreading to uncover who was behind that door.

Turning the knob of the door and eventually opening it, he was greeted with no other than Ochaco Uraraka.

The one person he did not want to talk to.

“Roundface? What the hell are you doing he-”

“Bakugo.” She sounded very serious and…

Worried?

“Hah?”

The girl looked down and clenched her fists.

“May i…come inside?”

“What the fuck?”

Ochaco looked up at him, her face determined expression.

“I…I want to have a talk with you!”

“Uhm why?”

“Deku…”

Oh no. Did Izuku tell her about them cuddling? He would kill him if he did that.

It’s so…embarrassing.

“You like him, don’t you?”

“Hah? Where are you getting that from?” Katsuki knew he was screwed. He had only just realised his feelings for Izuku and not just shitty hair, but also pink cheeks knows!

Stupid nerd.

“What is that to you?” The blonde wasn’t going to lie. He was better than that. Katsuki knew what he was, and it definitely wasn’t a liar. Plus, he does have feelings for Izuku, right?

“I wanted to talk to you about it. Izuku told me about what happened.”

Fuck him.

“And told me about your reaction and, and expression. And since I've experienced having a crush, I’d like to help!”

Katsuki looked at her like she was crazy but she was. What the fuck does she mean she wants to help? Yeah he was planning on asking her so she didn’t need to come to his room either way. It just makes explaining things way too difficult.

She could help though.

No.

Yes?

Maybe.

Ugh.

“Fine. Only because I’m feeling nice today.”

Ochaco’s face beamed so brightly as she excitedly skipped into his room.

“Phew. I’m so happy you agreed because I really thought you wouldn’t. I mean me and you don’t really talk so i wouldn’t expect you to say u could. Ha!”

“Shut up.”

“Sorry Bakugo. Where do I sit?”

“Floor.”

“Huh?”

“So…What do you want to talk about?”

“I don’t know. You're the one who wanted to talk.”

“Yeah but I'm more the listener than the talker so…”

“Well, I think you already know that I’m in love with Izuku.”

Uraraka made a weird noise.

“What?”

She blushed.

“It’s just I'd never expect you to admit something as sensitive as that.”

“Are you calling me weak?”

“What?! No! Absolutely not! That would be immature. It’s just I'm not used to you talking about your feelings–with me out of all people!” She giggled and rubbed the back of her next, a wobbly smile painted on her face.

“Whatever.”

“So…how did you know you were in love with him?”

“Yesterday. When I was talking to him, we hugged and shit. Then I realised I liked him. Plus, shitty hair said something about feelings that made me think about it.”

“Oh.”

“I also had this weird dream that we were on the battlefield, and Izuku was dying. Then this white mist consumed him whole. Then he said he lov-” Katsuki wasn’t going to finish that sentence but he already knew that Uraraka was aware of what he was about to say.

“Bakugo…I’m so sorry.”

“Tsk. Don’t be. It’s not your fault.”

“I know. But I've had a similar kind of experience. Losing the person I love. I think Deku has already talked to you about it but,”

Her and her love for the bloody psycho. Yeah he’s heard.

“I fell in love with Himiko Toga. She was an amazing girl. I talked to her about love and how I envied her. How she acted when she had someone she loved. Her smile was so beautiful. So cute. Th-the cutest…”

Fuck.

Was she about to cry? Katsuki could not have another person crying in his arms. He still hasn’t recovered from what happened with Izuku and him.

“Woah, woah. Don’t cry.”

The teary-eyed girl sniffed.

“Sorry, Bakugo,” she wiped her eyes, “It’s just a very emotional topic for me.”

“Then don’t talk about it. I don’t care.”

“Ha. Yeah sure.”

They both were staring down and silence filled the room.

Katsuki had time to think.

She still loved her, regardless of what she had done. The way she talked about her was truly very affectionate–Izuku was right.

Maybe the blonde could ask her.

How she could care for someone who has done such bad things in the past.

How she could effortlessly talk about the good in her even though she was a villain.

How she calls her the ‘cutest’ even though she has murdered hundreds or people.

How she can love someone…

“Oi Roundface?”

“Hmm?”

“If you don’t mind me asking, how can you still love someone after what they’ve, uhm. Done?”

Ochaco froze for a few seconds before chuckling softly under her breath.

“Ahh, well the answer is simple. Think of it this way. Imagine you have a dog, that’s really bitey and energetic. The dog bites sometimes. It gets dead animals and brings them to your doorstep. Of course there’s a reason to not like it, but you still do. And you do that because you love them. And you're pretty sure they love you back. Because they're doing this because it’s their way of showing affection. Not many dogs act like this but your dog does. Nothing you can do about that, you just have to accept it. ”

“What?” Katsuki wasn’t stupid–what pink cheeks said just didn’t make sense.

“What I mean is, for example, Himiko-chan, her quirk is unique but involves taking blood from others, which isn’t very sufficient, but that was how she was born. Toga had a chance to stab me and end me forever but she didn’t because she loved me. And because I love her, I accepted her quirk and was risking giving her all the blood she wanted. Love, Bakugo. Love is strange but can lead to wonderful things. Things like sacrificing your life for your special one.”

Katsuki thought of the time he and Izuku were battling shigaraki. The time when his body moved on his own…

Ever since it happened, he’s been wondering why his body did that. But now that Uraraka said it, he thinks he does.

“Love is shitty.” He scoffed.

The girl giggled.

“Well, I wouldn't describe it like that. It’s weird and confusing sometimes, but once you get the hang of it, it's a beautiful thing to experience.”

The blonde rolled his eyes.

“Sappy.”

“Hey! You like Deku so you cannot be speaking!”

“Don’t use that against me.”

“Yeah yeah. Anyways, are you planning to confess to him?”

“Obviously.”

“How?”

Silence for a bit.

“Oh.” Ochaco fiddled with the hem of her pyjama top.

“Have you thought about the winter fes-”

“Yes.”

“Oh. So… are you gonna do it there?”

“Not sure yet. The festival is for, preferably, couples anyways so we wo-”

“Don’t you want to be a couple?”

Katsuki glared at her but then softened his gaze as he looked down at his carpet.

He’s been trying to avoid doing couple things with Izuku, but everytime he does, something romantic always comes up. They’ve already hugged, cuddled and talked about their feelings; all they need to do now is the holding hands and the ki-.

“I think so.”

This made Ochaco smile.

“You're a good person Bakugo. You just have to find your spark.”

Katsuki frowned.

“Which is…?”

“Deku.”

They both froze.

Silence filled the room once more.

“Yeah. I guess you're right.”

“Glad you agree.” The girl uttered before changing her position on the floor. She played with her hair until she spurted,

“So, how are you feeling about that festival thing? You going or…?” She left room for him to answer.

It might be for couples but doesn’t he want to be a couple with Izuku?

So it wouldn’t hurt, right?

Right?

“I’m taking that as a yes!”

“Tsk.”

“Good luck Bakugo-Kun”

“Thanks.”

“Glad we could talk.”

Katsuki: Izuku

Izuku: Yes Kacchan

Katsuki: Are you busy next weekend?

Izuku: No i dont think so

Katsuki: neither

Izuku: Oh ok hah. What is it you want to tell me?

Katsuki: Wanna go somewhere tg?

Izuku: Really?

Katsuki: I’d be bored on the weekend doing nothing. I don't wanna feel lazy.

Izuku: Sure!! I’d love to. It could help get my mind off things TvT

Katsuki: Good

Izuku: Uh where can we go tho?

Katsuki: Actually I heard there was a winter festival thing and there's gonna be a big all might skating rink.

Izuku: REALLY? CAN WE GO PLEASE????

Katsuki: Sure.

Izuku: Yay!!!!

Katsuki: What time are you meeting me?

Izuku: What time does it start?

Katsuki: 9am

Izuku: Okay so we could meet up at 7:30???

Katsuki: Yeah then we have time to catch up with the train

Izuku: Ye!!! Thanks for inviting me Kacchan :D

Katsuki: No bother

Izuku: Bye Kacchan see you soon

Katsuki: Bye Izuku

“Oh damn.”

“I fucking screwed.”

“No! No! That’s not what I meant man! It’s great that you asked him out, really!”

“What do you know, Shitty Hair?”

“Well, actually, I do know things. I have a wonderful, amazing, beautiful girlfriend who I love so much and go on dates with all the time.”

“Sappyass.”

“Hey! You asked for it!”

“Yeah but if Izuku was my fucking boyfriend, I wouldn’t go out every single second of the day.”

“I don’t-. Nevermind. Let’s just see what to do with you.”

Katsuki scoffed.

“Have you ever been on a date?”

“No.”

“Have you ever had a crush?”

“Not until Izuku.”

“Has anyone ever confessed to you?”

“Well a few girls did in junior high but i don’t like girls. Plus, I ignored all of them.”

“Do you even have any romantic relationship experience?”

Katsuki shrugged.

“What does this have anything to do with me asking out Izuku?”

“I need to see your level, man! And now I know, you definitely need a lot of training.”

“Tsk. Whatever.”

Kirishima rested his head on his knuckles, a determined look on his face.

Suddenly, his face beamed with a large smile, his shark-like teeth twinkling.

“I have an idea!” He exclaimed.

“Which is…?” Katsuki answered, a hint of annoyance in his tone even though he wasn’t angry in any way.

“Can’t tell you yet! Meet me in Jirou’s dorm in like 2 hours!”

“What. Why her room?”

“You’ll see.” The redhead said as he reached for the door.

“See you then!” And with that he slammed the door shut.

Great. His friend just left him in his room to consume himself with his own thoughts.

I guess now he could think about the date he was going on with his boyfriend. Not his boyfriend, his crush.

It took Katsuki a little while to comprehend the fact that he was in love with Izuku–then he thought about the talk he had with Uraraka.

Rehab.

Rehab.

His rehab told him to practise writing with his right arm. So maybe he could write about this shit load whilst also benefiting his arm growth. It’s a win win!

Katsuki grabbed his notebook, a pencil, his phone and some airpods. He then sat down, adjusting himself at his desk, and started thinking.

Once he clicked the play button, his mind went blank.

What the fuck was he meant to do? Just right about what’s going through his head? Well his head is completely blank right now so that’s no help.

Think Katsuki. Think.

Uraraka.

Underneath his title of ‘Feelings + Dump’, he started dotting down some things that the brunette said.

Feelings + Dump

Pink cheeks talked about love & shit which made no sense. Well it kinda did. She was talking about her ‘love for blood girl’ & said to imagine it like love for a dog. Sappy as fuck. Love is literally so dumb. Of course Izuku had to tell her. He’s so dumb & I don't know why I like him. I have no reason to love him.

I don't think I have a reason to love him. Well he’s cool & everything. He’s nice, kind & cute but I don't even know why I have a crush on him. It’s so weird.

Pink cheeks said love can be difficult & I definitely agree with that shit because it is! How can I love someone but not find a reason to love them? Isn’t that like stupid? But I can’t control my feelings, no matter how shitty they might be. No matter how dumb they are. No matter how weak they make me look. No matter how much I actually don’t hate it. No matter how I actually like these feelings. But no one needs to know that.

When Shitty hair talked to me about how i might have feelings for Izuku, it wouldn’t leave my mind & have been pestering me for ages! So annoying. It’s not like I hate it, it’s just I don't like feeling something I don't understand. It really frustrates me. Like really!

But now I kind of have an understanding, ever since that talk with Pink cheeks. I sorta feel bad that the person she had the hots for kicked the bucket. Must’ve been sad. I couldn’t imagine losing someone who’s close to me like my old hag or Dad or. Or Izuku. But no one needs to know that!

I asked him out (not really) & told Shitty hair about it. He’s probably planning something stupid. He even told me to go to ears’ room. That’s so dumb. Is he gonna tell ears about it? He better not. Or I'll kill him!

-Katsuki Bakugo a.k.a Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight.

It took the blonde a good hour and a half to write this whole thing. Mainly because he was thinking of what to write half of the time. The other half was because of his hand.

As he closed his book, a message from Kirishima popped up on his phone.

Kirishima: MEET AT KYOKA’S ROOM RNN!!!!!

Great. Time for him to see whatever stupid thing he had been planning.

Katsuki got out of his chair wondering what Kirishima had done.

Whatever it was it would probably be stupid.

It would either be A, sappy or B, a really good idea (which he doubted).

Shitty hair isn’t stupid. Katsuki calls him that sometimes but he doesn’t really mean that and Kirishima knows it. On the inside, Katsuki is squealing, sweating and tweaking so hard because he’s so nervous about his not-so-date with Izuku: Katsuki never thought in a million years that he would hang out with the nerd. Just him and the nerd. Noone else. Just him. And Izuku. In a festival. Alone. In a romantic festival. Holding hands, hugging, complimenting each other and ki-

He arrived at Kyoka’s room in no time. Her dorm was just the floor under his so not too far.

The blonde took a long deep breath before knocking on the door.

Kirishima opened the door with no time to spare and practically dragged the boy into the room.

Bastard.

“Bakugo! I didn’t actually think you would come.” A familiar voice said, causing Katsuki to look from above the shoulder of the redhead.

It was Jiro. Well obviously but sitting next to her was none other than Mezou Shoji & Denki Kaminari.

“Great. You brought ears, dunce face and tentacles. Why is he even here?”

“Well, Bakugo, Kirishima invited me because he thought I would be good in teaching you to be a gentleman for your date.”

Katsuki frowned.

“Shitty hair. Out.”

Kirishima gulped as he slowly made his way out of the room.

The blonde looked around to make sure no one was there and folded his arms.

“Like to explain?”

“What?”

“You know damn well.”

Kirishima rubbed the back of his neck.

“Ah. Well. I knew you would be mad but I have the perfect plan man. If you just hear me out!”

“I haven’t told any of them about me and Izuku so where does that give you space to tell them?” a hint of anger and annoyance in his voice.

“Bakugo! You have to listen. If you want this to be the perfect date,”

“Not-so-date.” he corrected.

“Okay…the perfect not-so-date, you gotta listen to me man. I have more relationship experience than you from what I’ve heard. I’m not doing this to embarrass you or humiliate you, I’m doing this for you and Midoriya’s good. So please, can you let me do this?” Kirishima went all baby-eyed, attempting to make Katsuki feel sympathetic–I didn’t completely work, but he gave in.

“Ugh. Let’s get this over with.”

Kirishima gave the blonde a small smile before entering the room. Katsuki rolled his eyes before he followed. He didn’t need Shitty hair’s friends ruining his love life. He was his own person and he (and Eijiro) could make the decisions on their own.

To be honest, he kind of asked for it since he let Hair for Brains help but it doesn’t matter anymore.

What’s done is done.

“Is Mr Hopeless romantic back?” Jirou teased in which Katsuki responded by scorning.

“Shut up.”

“Okay, ‘your majesty’.” She was definitely feeling bold.

“Jirou. Do you want to die?” Kaminari gave her a genuine worried look.

“Guys. We didn’t come to argue. We are just wanting to help our friend, right?” Shoji stated, sounding more mature than the rest.

“You're right Mezou-Kun!” Hagakure said from the corner.

When did she get here?

“Alright. Let's start with the plan. Denki, the board?” The red-head asked.

“Right!” he replied as he went and came back with a board full of writing.

“What the actual…”

“Behold! The ‘Help Bakugo become an absolute gentleman and make Midoriya fall head over heels for him’ board!”

“We should have a shorter name for that.”

Kaminari nodded, agreeing with his affirmation.

“No. Absolutely not.”

“Cmon Bakugo! We spent so long on this.” Toru moaned.

“She is right. We’re trying to help.”

“First off, why are you even here?”

“I have quite good romance advice, thank you very much.” Tentacles declared, sounding snappier than usual.

“Secondly, why waste so much time on this,” Bakugo looked the board up and down before finishing with, “garbage?”

Toru slapped her hand on her chest, looking offended.

“How dare. If you don’t want the advice then leave.” she pointed at the door.

“Hagakure. Calm down.” Jirou assured her. She pouted and sat back on the bed.

“Ugh. I’ll do this but only because I'm being forced.”

Katsuki was sort of looking forward to going through this board but no one needed to know that.

“Okay. Now that that is over with, we can begin. Let me break it down for you Bakugo. They are split into different sections. Me and the others have added our own advice for each part depending on our knowledge–this means we will have 4 parts–excluding Kirishima. Each of them should take about 20-30 minutes.” Jirou explained, “Well, 10-20 minutes if you cooperate.” she added.

Kirishima gave a warning look as if trying to tell her to not test Bakugo’s patience.

Anywho, Katsuki understood what Ears had said since it was explained so clearly and distinctly but he was concerned about who’s section was first and who was last.

“Okay! Now that Jirou has very kindly explained what we're gonna do, how ‘bout we start?” Denki blurted, wrapping his arms round Katsuki’s neck, who eventually pushed them.

“Whatever. Let’s get this over with.”

“Perfect! First section is…” Kirishima exclaimed as he revealed,

“Section 1: Kaminari!”

Great.

“Can I read mine?!”

“Sure man!”

Kaminari began happily reading his part, “Okay. So you need your rizz to be on top! Technically, in my part of this, you're gonna learn how to rizz Midoriya up!”

“Shi-”

“Just hear him out.”

Katsuki groaned.

“So what I want to teach you first is some pick-up lines. M’lady?” He said, reaching his hand out to Jirou who then rolled her eyes.

“I told you not to call me that.” She complained.

The dunce mouthed something but Katsuki didn’t quite get it.

Kyoka scoffed and grabbed his hand pulling herself in.

“Watch and learn, Sir Bakugo.” Adjusting his chest.

“Oh wow. How are you, lovely lady?”

“Good till you came.”

Denki frowned but continued.

“My day would be better with your number on my phone.” He looked generally proud of his line but the others cringed. Hard.

Jirou looked at him and burst out into laughter.

“Wha-What was that?!” She said, trying to compose herself.

“You don't like it?!”

“No! No man. It’s not like that. It’s just…” Kirishima began.

“It stinks like shit.”

“Bakugo!”

“He ain’t lying.” Toru spurted–Shoji agreeing with her.

“I worked hard on them!”

“B-But they are s-so bad!” Jirou stated, her hands wrapped around her waist.

“So scrap that!” The red-head said as he rubbed the marker off the board.

Denki dragged himself back to the bed and threw himself onto it.

Well wasn’t he dramatic?

“Next up on Section 2 is…”

“I believe it’s me.” Shoji said, standing up from his position.

“My section is talking about how you're gonna act towards him. No offence Bakugo, but you're quite short-tempered. Not like in the first year though–you've actually improved a lot! You just need a little…support.”

Rude.

“Okay so let’s begin!”

It took just under 12 minutes for them to finish Mezou’s section.

“So I’m meant to compliment him?”

“Yes. It’s seen as polite.”

“O…kay? And I’m meant to say sappy stuff.”

“Wouldn’t call them ‘sappy’ but I guess, sure.”

“But what if he doesn’t like the things I get him?!”

“That’s the next thing we are going on actually!” Hagakure interrupted.

“And that’s my part! Section 3!” She ran to the board.

Oh.

“Gifts! You need to give him the best, most special gifts ever! They need to be thoughtful. Full of love even! It needs to be something you and him like! But most importantly, they need to come from the heart. Exceptional, unique, memorable and…”

“Okay. I get it. But where are we going to get gifts?”

“At the store, obvi!”

“Wait but I need to do my part.” Jirou argued.

“Oh yeah.”

Silence for a bit.

“How about you do your part first then after we’re done, we can go to the store?”

“Yes!”

“No.”

“What?”

“I said no. I am not doing that.”

“Why?”

“It’s cringe.”

“C’mon Bakugo.”

“Nope.”

“But to confess you sorta need to do that…”

“No I don't. I can do it my own way.”

“Cmon Bakubro! She has more dating experience than you.” And Kirishima was right. She was dating Denki.

Dating Denki.

Fuck.

Now that he thinks about it, how the fuck did dunce face get a partner before him?

I mean, not like he cares that much. He doesn’t give a shit that Kaminari has a girlfriend. But thinking about it makes him want to up his game.

He needs to get a fucking grip.

He needs to confess. Stat.

But the only way he could do that is…

No.

It was way too sappy.

He’s not that desperate.

Or is he…?

Okay.

He kinda sorta was a tiny little bit desperate.

Katsuki wanted Izuku. Bad.

But no one needs to know that.

“Fine.”

“Yes! I mean, good for you Bakugo.”

That wasn’t suspicious at all.

“So is that the whole board done?”

“No! Me! I need to take him shopping.”

Oh yeah.

“Right. You and Hagakure need to go shopping.”

“Oo! Can any of us come?”

God. Please no.

“Nah. I can already see that Bakugo wouldn’t like that.” Jirou stated, giving Katsuki a teasing expression.

“Fuck off.” He responded even though she just saved his life there.

“Okay! So it’s settled. When we’re done, we come back to Jiro’s room?” Toru asked.

“Yeah! Then we can see what lovey-dovey presents Bakugo got for his boyfriend who isn’t his boyfriend.” Kaminari mocked.

Katsuki could already feel his face becoming hot.

“Be quiet.” Jirou snapped at the boy who pouted at her response.

“Ignore him man. How ‘bout you two start going?” Kirishima tried to change the topic which obviously worked.

“Yeah. Go get changed and meet me outside the dorms!”

Katsuki didn’t even hesitate to leave that room. It felt like he was there for ages.

That was the worst thing he had ever experienced (minus the times that he got impaled or his heart being pierced by the world’s most wanted villain).

He’s not sure that he wants to do the whole ‘date with Izuku’ thing anymore–why’d Hair for Brains have to tell the whole fucking gang?

He was pretty sure he did not give him permission. But, if Katsuki was being completely honest, what did he really expect? It was Kirishima afterall. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and shit.

Their friendship is very important to Katsuki. Kirishima, not including Izuku or his parents, was actually one of the closest people to him.

Ever since he helped with getting Bakugo back when he got kidnapped by The League Of Villains, their relationship has grown quite strong. He remembers it like it was yesterday. Kirishima reached his hand out to him.

He was quite surprised that Izuku wasn’t the one to do it, but if he ever reached his hand out to him like that again, only God knows the flashbacks Katsuki would have gotten.

When they were five.

No.

No thinking about it. Not now.

Especially not now; when he’s meant to be going on a not-so-date with him.

Hell no.

By the time Katsuki finished his day-dreaming, he was already at the door of his dorm.

He opened it and slapped on a scarf and a coat and left immediately.

Katsuki made sure no one who didn’t know about Izuku and him (in which Izuku was also part of that group) didn’t see him exit the dorms. The last thing he needed was for Deku to see him go to get a gift he was planning on giving the boy.

“You’re here!”

Katsuki rolled his eyes.

“Of course I am. What? You think I’d not come?”

“No…maybe…”

Katsuki gave her a look.

“Yeah. But it doesn't matter anymore! Cause you're here. Now, we’re going to the mall and get some things! Obvi.”

Why did she say it like he was stupid?

“And since you're like Midoriya-kun’s best, best, best, best friend, you probably know his interests, hobbies and everything! I mean, we all know he likes AllMight,”

“Who doesn't?” Katsuki mumbled under his breath

“But you know more! Which is going to make this even more, very fun! Ugh, I’m super excited to take you shopping with me! You like never go anywhere with anyone, so I feel so honoured.”

“Less talking, more actually getting things. How about that?” Katsuki snarled, sounding really irritated.

“Oh. That. Right! Let’s go!”

“Oh em gee! We should totally do a haul!” Hagakure suggested.

After over 2 hours of trying to find the perfect gift, they finally picked one.

And a few hundred for Toru.

“Hard pass.”

“Party pooper.”

Katsuki crossed his hands and scoffed.

“Whatever! Anyways, are you sure that Midoriya-kun would like that? No offence, but it’s kinda, sorta, a little bit,” shel hesitated, “Boring…”

“Nah. The nerd would scold me for getting him a lot of things.”

The invisible girl shrugged.

“Okay. Whatever floats your boat!” She looked up at the sky.

“It’s getting dark. We should head inside.”

“Yeah.”

“See you later Bakugo-kun! Good luck on your date!”

Hagakure wasn’t someone Katsuki knew much about. She was definitely popular due to her bubbly personality.

She was kind, energetic, fun and everyone liked her.

Maybe.

“Oi.”

She turned her head around (Bakugo could only tell she did because of the clips in her hair)

“Mhm?”

The tweeting melody of the birds played, filling the deafening silence.

A warm orangey sky with a pink hue painted into it consumed the horizon. Chalky white snow spread across the ground as its snowflakes danced around the atmosphere.

It was a perfect winter evening.

“Do you…” he paused, “have any advice…?” His voice was soft, raspy and genuine.

“What do you mean?”

Her reply irritated Katsuki but he brushed it off.

“I mean, any advice regarding me and Izuku?”

“Oh.”

Silence.

“Well, I’m not an expert on love, but…”

“Just be yourself.”

Katsuki looked at her, pure confusion.

“Yes! Bakugo, you might not be the nicest person, the kindest person or the funnest person. But deep down, I know you can unlock your spark.”

Wait.

“You're a good person Bakugo. You just have to find your spark.”

“I’ve heard that before.” He sneered making Toru laugh in which Katsuki let out a small grin that he wasn’t sure that she saw.

“Sure you have. Anyways, I’m wishing you the sincerest of luck Bakugo-kun. Have fun.” And with that she ran into the dorms, leaving Katsuki by himself outside.

He took a deep breath and took some time to appreciate the elegant view.

This gave him time to think. To think about everything that happened the past few days.

The dream, their talk, him asking Izuku out, Roundface, his friends helping him with this.

“Woah.” the inaudible sound escaped his mouth.

In such a short amount of time, so much has happened.

It’s crazy how much things can change because of one thing.

Katsuki couldn’t help but smile.

Everything was perfect.

All he needed to do was be his best for tomorrow.

He could not mess things up. Especially not right now.

As he opened the door, he was met with Kirishima patiently waiting in front of him.

“Bro! What’d you get?!” He asked, excited for his response.

“None of your business.”

“What?!”

“I need to go to sleep for tomorrow.”

“Huh?”

“Bye.”

Katsuki entered the elevator barely leaving time for the red-head to talk.

Everything was perfect excluding that part.

He could do this.

Katsuki Bakugo, the future number 1 ProHero could fucking do this!

He hopes.

Today is the day.

The day Katsuki had waited for for what felt like years.

The day Katsuki could prove himself to Izuku.

The day he could win the nerd’s heart.

The day they could finally be together.

The day that Izuku Midoriya (hopefully) becomes his boyfriend.

The day that they could officially call themselves a couple…

A couple who held hands.

A couple who talked about their feelings.

A couple who hugged or cuddled.

A couple who ki-

Katsuki stretched, relieving the parts of his body which were slightly sore.

Ruffling his hands through his hair, he slung up his curtains wide open.

A bright sunlight reflected on him as he wiped away the frost surrounding his window.

The snow looked purer than ever today. The trees were naked and coated with the frozen fluff.

Katsuki never really hated winter, it just made his quirk less ‘useful.’ Winter season was always one of the prettiest. Its romantic ambience always made winter the first option. Most people love winter because of that reason; it was always seen as the season of love.

It made the blonde jealous. He never thought he’d fall in love so he was always bitter during these times.

Of Course when it was Christmas, it was less tedious since they were his family and friends there to forget about his depressing love life.

Ouch.

Anyways, why did that matter?

He was about to go on a not-so-date with Izuku.

The Izuku Midoriya.

On the outside, he was acting all nonchalant and untroubled, but really, he was kicking his feet like a little kid.

He didn’t know why but he didn’t care that it made him look weak because who was there to judge him?

“Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.” Katsuki chanted to himself, walking in circles around his room.

Why was he so excited?

Why did this make him so thrilled?

He does not give a fuck.

All he cares about right now is his not-so-date with Izuku.

He quickly paced to his bathroom and took a long shower.

He was not going to smell like shit to his not-so-date.

The warm water trickled down his body, sending a shiver down his spine.

Turning off the shower, he wrapped a plain towel around his waist and approached his sink.

Running his fingers through his hair, he checked to see if he looked good.

He picked up his toothbrush and toothpaste and began brushing. As he was brushing his teeth, the intrusive thoughts slowly crept up.

What if he rejects you? Imagine how embarrassing that would be.

What the fuck?

No way in hell.

What if he does though? You’d be seen as weak and vulnerable.

“Fuck off.” He grunted even though his mouth was full of the minty paste.

Ah, but Katsuki, you've got to be real here. Why would you think the boy you’ve bullied for the majority of his life would accept your confession? He isn't a masochist is he?

“Don’t think i fucking know that? And besides, he has already forgiven me.”

Yes but do you have proof of that?

Well, no. He doesn’t have actual proof that Izuku has forgiven him: but the blonde wasn’t dumb, far from that even!

He can obviously know if someone has forgiven his ass or not.

And he knows for a fact that the nerd has forgiven him.

He thinks.

So you don’t! You will get humiliated if you go. Just stay. For your own good.

“Shut the fuck up. You don’t know shit.” He barked as he opened his bathroom door and then nearing his closet.

I actually know ‘shit.’ For I am you–just a better, smarter version.

“Watch your fucking mouth, will you?”

He found a pair of trousers and a long sleeve top he could match with.

Blocking away the intrusive thoughts he took no acknowledgement of because he was beginning to look schizophrenic, he wore the pieces he picked and stared at himself in the mirror.

Now all he needed was his winter attire.

He put on his coat from the rack and packed a scarf with some gloves.

He slid on some fluffy socks and put some sneakers on.

Facing the mirror once again, he just needed one more thing.

Perfume.

Izuku always liked vanilla scented things so that was what he was going to put some.

Finally, he looked at himself in the mirror once more: 360’s, poses and everything.

After he was satisfied with his look, he grabbed his phone to check the time, only for new messages by Shitty Hair and Izuku to pop up.

Izuku: Hi Kacchan!!!! I just wanted to know if youre still on for today?

Sent at 6:30

Katsuki: Sorry I didn't reply earlier. Yes I am.

Izuku: Don't worry! It’s okay!!! I'm really excited

Katsuki: Yeah me too

Izuku: Well, see you outside!

Katsuki: See you Izuku

Izuku: =D

Cute.

Kirishima: HEY BAKUBRO!!!!!!!!!

Katsuki: Ugh what.

Kirishima: Just wanted to make sure you were up for your date ;>

Katsuki: Ok.

Kirishima: U excited????

Katsuki: yeah.

Kirishima: Glad to hear it man!!!!! Hope you have the best day!!!!

Katsuki: Thanks ig.

Kirishima: Oh and question, what did you get for Midobro???

Katsuki: None of your business.

Kirishima: PLEASEEEEEE

Katsuki: no.

Kirishima: I BEG

Katsuki: shut up.

Kirishima: BAKUBRO

Katsuki: bye

Kirishima: WHAT

Katsuki quickly checked the time before turning his phone off.

7:27

Just in time.

He quickly got a small bag and grabbed Izuku’s gift before sprinting out of his room, his hopes set high.

Noone was awake yet since it was the weekend and he was sure that Kirishima and the rest of the Bakusquad weren’t coming to the funfair too.

If they were smart enough to understand that Katsuki doesn’t want anyone from Class 2a to the festival, especially when he was going on a not so date, that is.

But Katsuki could trust them.

Right?

As he exited the building, the cool breeze blew on his face.

The blonde hurriedly looked for Izuku, only to find him patiently waiting whilst scrolling through his phone.

He was wearing a jacket and a fleece sweater underneath. Topped with some soft-looking pants and his regular red shoes.

He looked truly beautiful this morning.

“Izuku.” He shouted for him.

Izuku turned around and gave him a large, beaming smile–his pearly whites twinkling like diamonds.

“Kacchan!” He replied as he paced towards him.

“You, uhm. You look really good.”

Yes.

Compliments.

The boy’s cheeks were a rosy red shade.

“Thank you Kacchan. You look amazing as always.” He complimented back.

“Thanks I guess.” Bakugo could already feel all the blood rushing to his face.

“No problem! Are you excited for today?”

“Yeah.”

“I’m pretty excited for the ice-rink.”

“Me too.” Katsuki felt like his replies were dry and boring so he planned to take it up a notch.

“Are you wearing a chocolate scented perfume?” He asked.

Izuku looked down and twiddled his fingers.

“Yeah. Uraraka recommended it to me since she used it whenever she went out. I’m also a big fan of sweet scented things like Vanilla, strawberry and ofcourse chocolate.”

Katsuki was very smug that he got the vanilla scent thing right.

“Oh! And also, are you wearing a Vanilla scented fragrance?”

Katsuki nodded.

“Yeah. I just thought you’d like it.” He admitted, hoping that he’d like that account.

Izuku blushed like he predicted.

.

..

“How about we start going?” Katsuki said, in an attempt to fill the very uncomfortable silence.

“Yeah.” He responded and began walking.

The blonde followed with no hesitation.

Their conversation was going very smoothly. Infact, this whole morning was going quite smoothly.

He was satisfied.

“Do you think we should get something to eat?” Izuku asked.

“Hm?”

“Would you like to get breakfast before we go on our train? I don’t think you’ve eaten yet so i just thought we could go to a cafe before we leave. We do have quite a while until the event opens.”

“Oh.”

“I mean, you don’t have to!” He reassured, “I-it was just a recommendation because I wasn't sure you ate breakfast. B-But if you did that’s fine. It’s not like I’m go-”

“Sure.”

Izuku stopped himself and let out a small sigh.

Why was he so flustered?

“Good because I’m sorta hungry.” He said as he grabbed his phone.

“Do you know any cafes open that we could go to?”

“Yeah. There’s one next to the Takoba beach which is just a few minutes away from here.”

“Sure.”

It was a short walk to get from U.A to the place: The Takoba Bistro.

The windows were frosted and the large sign ‘Open!’ was decorated with festive embellishments.

As the two walked in, they were met with a sweet, warm smell of freshly baked pastries and the strong smell of coffee.

The front counter was also furnished with the similar decorations that were seen outside.

There were cakes, muffins, biscuits and hot chocolates displayed as well; a gentle, mirthful tune played in the background bringing a friendly welcome to the two boys.

“Good morning! And happy holidays. What do you need?” The old lady at the desk greeted.

“Good morning ma’am. Can we get a seat please?” Izuku asked, as polite as ever.

He was always so well mannered and a real gentleman. That was his ‘green flags’ you could say.

Actually, he has way more green flags than that. He’s pretty, caring, strong, determined and overall just perfect.

Perfect.

Per..fect.

“Of course young man! Just follow me and I'll get you two lovebirds a table.” She teased.

Both their faces went bright red.

“Oh! N-No No! We a-aren’t together miss! We are just friends.”

For some reason, that made Katsuki's heart ache (only God knew he didn’t need more heart problems).

“Okay. If you say so.” She didn’t sound so certain but continued her task in taking the boys to their table.

“There you two go! Would you like the menu?”

Katsuki sat down, followed by Izuku. The seats were made out of wood and the cushions were soft and comfortable.

“Yes please!”

“Great! I’ll be two seconds.”

When she left, an uncomfortable silence, saved from the few cars driving by and the birds singing a melancholy hymn, grew between the two of them.

There was no one else but them in the cafe: which Katsuki was actually quite grateful for.

Noone dared utter a word after she left. They just stared into each other's eyes.

Crimson red and Earthy green.

Katsuki always admired Izuku’s eyes. They were wide, unique and majestic.

He looked at his cheeks–one was covered in a large scar and the other was coated with freckles. His favourite feature.

Minutes passed and the store owner came back with the menu as promised.

“Sorry for the wait. A few customers had entered the building.”

“It’s oka-”

“Don’t you have other people working with you.”

Izuku frowned.

“Kacchan.” he said in a warning tone.

“Don’t worry son. No young man, I don't. I’m self-employed and work by myself. I’ve had this store for many years so I might be retiring soon.”

“I’m so sorry ma’am!”

“It’s not your fault. I need a break anyway.”

“Oh.” Were the only words Katsuki could utter.

“But enough with being all sad. Order something. That would definitely make me happy.”

“O-Oh! Okay Miss. Thank you.”

She let out a small smile before disappearing deeper into the cape.

Both Izuku and Katsuki grabbed the menus and looked for something to eat.

“So…” Izuku began.

The blonde looked up from the menu and raised a brow.

“What’s in the bags?”

Shit.

What was he meant to say?

‘Oh Izuku, just my gift that I bought for you so I could confess my crush on you.’

Think.

Think.

Think!

“Just some gloves.” he found himself saying.

“Oh.”

Gloves? Who brings gloves in a bag? That’s so stupid.

Silence for a bit.

“Have you chosen anything yet?”

Katsuki was so happy that Izuku changed the subject because it was sort of awkward.

“Yeah, I have.”

“Whatchu getting?” He tilted his head which Katsuki found cute.

“Just a hot chocolate and croissant. Not much.”

“I’m getting a hot chocolate too! But instead of a croissant, I’m getting a chocolate puff pastry.”

He didn’t know how to respond. He just nodded and looked out the window.

Admiring the beautiful winter morning, he found himself saying, “Outside looks really nice, don’t you think?”

Izuku turned to face the window.

“Mhm. Winter is my favourite season. It’s where everyone can get together as family, friends and lovers and just have a great time. Plus, its view is really pretty. Most Pros get a break after working their butts off all the time but honestly, they deserve it.”

Katsuki didn’t even notice himself looking at Izuku instead of outside, appreciating his beauty.

The way his eyes sparkled whenever he talked about something he liked was something he could not ignore.

This boy really loved Izuku.

He adored him.

“Kacchan.”

“Hm?”

Silence.

“Nevermind.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah. It…” he paused, “fell out of my mind.”

Bullshit.

“Okay.”

The lady came back to take their orders.

“Have you gentlemen chosen your meals?”

“Yes! Can we have two hot chocolates and I’ll have a chocolate puff pastry.”

“Ofcourse, and you sir?”

“Croissant, please.”

“Okay, two hot chocolates, one chocolate puff pastry and a croissant?”

Isn’t that what they just said?

“Yes please!”

“Coming right up!”

She said as she left to prepare their food, leaving Izuku and Katsuki alone, once again.

Silence.

.

..

“Kacchan.”

“Yeah?”

“Thank you.”

What the fuck?

“Huh?”

“Thank you for,” he paused, “for letting me talk to you about the war and everything.”

“Oh.”

“And I’m being serious!”

He placed both his hands on the table and a determined expression was painted on his face.

“It has been something that’s been bothering me for such a long time. But I just felt like I couldn't talk about it to anyone. Yes, I trust all our friends, dearly!”

The boy looked down and relaxed his shoulders.

“It's just, you and I have been friends for a long time. So it felt right that you were the person I,”

His cheeks reddened.

“Sort of vented to? I guess you could say that, ha.”

Woah.

“I just needed to get that off my chest. I would have texted you but it felt better to tell you in person. So, thank you Kacchan.” He looked up and gave him a wobbly smile as if he was about to burst into tears again.

“Are you gonna cry again?”

Izuku bit his lip, obviously holding back tears.

“N-No.” his voice was shaky.

Katsuki sighed and sat next to Izuku again.

This definitely wasn’t on his plan for the perfect not-so-date but he’ll take whatever he’s given. Plus, he can hug Izuku again, without being weird, for the second time.

Izuku turned to Katsuki, his eyes glossy and gave him a ‘are you sure?’ look in which Katsuki nodded and then hugged him.

“You gotta stop crying everywhere Izuku.”

“Sorry…” He whispered to him.

They were in the far corner of the shop so no one could see them, other than the people who sat around that area–lucky for them, there wasn’t anyone around there.

Both the boys stayed in silence whilst still in that position for a short while before Izuku said, “Do you think it’s weird?”

“What’s weird?”

“Nevermind.” Izuku looked up at Katsuki (the tear marks on his cheeks) and he looked back.

That pissed the blonde off.

“Tch. You’ve gotta stop doing that.”

“Wha?”

“You gotta stop telling me something then saying ‘nevermind’ after.”

Izuku blushed and looked away.

“Sorry. I don’t know why I do that.”

Silence.

“Are you feeling better now?”

Izuku looked back at Katsuki and nodded.

“So are you gonna let go?”

The nerd’s face flushed a bright red and broke the hug immediately.

“Ah…Sorry.”

“Don’t be.”

Izuku’s eyes widened but his gaze softened and a small smile grew on his lips.

There was an awkward tension between them but Katsuki couldn’t tell why.

Was Izuku staring at him?

Or was he staring at Izuku weirdly?

Izuku took a quick glance below but swiftly looked back at Katsuki’s eyes.

This made the blonde look down and he noticed they were holding hands.

Fuck.

How didn’t he realise?

That is so humiliating.

Shit.

Shit.

All the blood was already rushing to his cheeks and a cold sweat ran down the side of his neck. His heart was beating rapidly; his leg was also bouncing.

He didn’t dare face Izuku.

Katsuki wanted to say something but the nerd already beat him to it.

“Kacchan? Are you okay?”

“Yeah. Why?”

Izuku blushed.

“That’s not what I meant.”

Bakugo looked at him, confused.

The fuck did he mean ‘thats not what i meant’.

Is he talking about…

“I meant about me uh, holding y-your hand.”

“I don’t give a fuck.”

He did give a fuck.

He was mentally kicking his feet, screaming and crying at the same time. He found this both cute and concerning.

Why would Izuku want to hold hands with him?

Isn’t that what couples do?

Hold hands, cuddle or hug, talking about feelings, share food and ki-

Izuku chuckled.

“Sorry for just holding your hand without your permission.”

“It’s alrig-”

“Sorry for the wait boys, I just had a few customers I had to attend to. Here are your or-”

The two boys turned their heads to find the lady with their orders.

“Oh!”

“I-It’s not what it looks like. I swear.”

The lady laughed.

“Ah, okay. Here are your meals gentlemen.” She placed the food down and gave it to their rightful owners.

They were both blushing really hard that they looked stupid. Katsuki’s hand was hiding his face whilst the other was still locked with Izuku’s.

“T-Thank you ma’am.” Izuku uttered.

She gave him a small wink that Katsuki didn’t see.

“Enjoy.” And with that she left.

The silence was deafening.

None of the two said anything to each other and carried on eating their breakfast whilst their hands were still in touch.

Katsuki was rethinking this whole not-so-date (even though they haven’t gone to the main part yet.

.

..

“K-Kacchan…”

“If it’s about the hands then I don't want to know.”

“Got it.”

By the time they had finished and paid for their meals, it was already way past 8.

Their walk to the station was short and quiet.

They did exchange a few brief conversations but, generally, it was mostly quiet.

And the reason for this was because they were practically holding hands the majority of the time.

Katsuki just thought it would be awkward if he just let go with no explanation.

The two idiots held hands until they entered their train; Izuku took this as an opportunity to put his music on.

“Kacchan?”

“What?”

“Wanna listen?”

“Whatever.”

Izuku gave him the other part of his airpods and played a song.

“Better not be something shitty.”

‘Cause i spent some time waiting for your face

Don't wanna risk just making all the same mistakes

The highest i think i’ve ever been

Said I had the prettiest eyes he’s ever seen

He has the prettiest eyes I’ve ever seen

Once they arrived, the event was already open. From the frosted windows, they could scarcely see the lights and different rides in the distance.

It was only until they exited the train that they could hear the loud music and noises repeatedly playing.

A faint smell of funfair delights danced through the air and the shrilling sounds of people's ecstatic screams pierced through the boys’ ears.

This only made Izuku more excited from the looks of it. His eyes twinkled at the sight: he certainly was looking forward to it.

Whereas for Katsuki, he could finally see why this place was. As much as he didn’t like going to crowded places like this, he’s willing to risk it for Izuku.

“Come on Kacchan, Let’s go!” He pulled the blonde’s sleeve and Katsuki just went with the flow.

When they stood in front of the gates, Izuku’s jaw almost dropped to the floor.

He was baffled by the colourful designs, the distinct lighting, the magical ornamentations, the amused expression of everyones’ faces and especially, the vast AllMight statue he could see from the distance holding an ‘Ice Rink’ sign whilst giving the biggest grin.

Izuku did not hesitate to go straight into the fair. It was loud, busy and lively.

The two paid for their entrance tickets and looked for the first thing they should do.

“So…What’d you wanna do?” Katsuki asked.

“There’s just so many things! I…I can’t just choose one.”

“Who said you have to?”

“I want to go to the Ice Rink first!”

“No!”

Izuku looked at him and tilted his head.

“Why?”

Because it would ruin his plan. He wanted the rink to be last because he wants time to pass so once it’s night and they finish ice skating, he wants to confess.

But he can’t tell him that.

“We just ate. And I’d feel sick if I ice skate right after eating.” He found himself saying.

“Oh.”

Shit.

He better not have messed up the not-so-date the first hour in. That would spoil everything he worked hard to build.

Shut up, Katsuki.

He needed to stop overthinking things. It made him look weak. And he was far from weak: he was Bakugo fucking Katsuki. The future Number 1 ProHero.

No need to overreact.

Right?

Right…?

“Okay! We could do The Duck Game. It will be fun.” He suggested.

Phew.

“Yeah, sure.”

The pair played a few small games and won a few prizes: too many prizes.

They were walking with their hands full of snacks, decorations, gift boxes and stuffed toys.

Everything was casual until Izuku spotted the jackpot.

“A large Limited Edition Silver-age AllMight Plushie! Kacchan, can we get it?! I only have one of those and they're at my mom’s apartment.”

Katsuki rolled his eyes.

“We already have so much stuff. You sure you want more.”

“Yes! Please?” He gave him puppy eyes whilst pouting his lips.

“Ugh, fine.”

Izuku smirked victoriously and paced towards the booth.

“Excuse me sir? How can I get that big AllMight plushie?”

The man lifted his eyebrows in delight.

“Ah! A quick game of darts. All you have to do is get 3 twenties. Or, if you're lucky, hit the middle once! If you succeed in any of those, I will give you the plushie.”

“Okay!”

“But be mindful, you only have a limited amount of chances.”

Izuku gulped.

“How…many?”

“Shh.” He put a finger on his lips, “Can’t tell you. But I will let you know if you’ve won or lost.”

“Okay.”

“Are you up for the challenge?”

The freckled boy took a deep breath.

“Yes!”

Katsuki placed all the things they had gotten to the side and saw Izuku’s expression–pure concentration.

A sweat ran down the side of his face. Even though he wasn’t the one playing, the suspense was silently killing him.

Finally, Izuku threw the first dart. It landed on a 14.

“Crap.”

“You kiss your mother with that mouth?”

Izuku just sarcastically rolled his eyes and continued.

His hands were trembling as he held the dart.

It was honestly boring but entertaining watching the boy try to shoot a dart.

“Go on!”

“I know!”

He threw his dart which landed on a 20.

“I only have 1 more try. But I’m not sure if this could be my last. Crap.”

“Let me have a go.”

“No way!”

“Do you want this or not?”

“I do! But I’m not a baby you do things all the time.”

“Bastard.”

“I heard that.”

Katsuki folded his arms and moped.

How dare he be sassy with him?

It was possibly the last chance the nerd had to win the plushie.

After what felt like days of contemplating, Izuku threw his last dart.

And…

“Another 14!”

“Awh man. Do I have another try?”

“No kiddo. Sorry.”

Izuku sulked.

He looked frustrated and unhappy.

Katsuki had to do something.

He couldn’t just leave him to be upset. AllMight was his idol.

Think.

Think!

Wait…

“It’s okay. That was unlucky for me. Come on, let’s go Ka-”

“Let me try.”

Izuku looked at him and raised a brow.

“Are you sure you can have a go?”

“Of Course I can. Is my name Izuku Midoriya?”

“Can he sir?” Izuku looked at the stand owner who was grinning.

“I mean, sure. I’ll allow it.”

Izuku’s eyes gleamed and he clenched his fists in excitement.

“Yes!”

“Why are you so happy? You’re not even sure that I’ll win.” Katsuki said as he paid for a ticket.

Izuku blushed and looked down whilst gently kicking the snow below his feet.

“Well, Kacchan is just really talented and amazing. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think that. I doubt that you won’t win this for me. I believe in you!”

He just felt like flowers had just bloomed inside his chest. Izuku always said sappy shit like this so why was it now that he reacted like this towards it?

Is it because he realised his love for him?

Shut up Katsuki.

The blonde nodded and began.

Without hesitating, he threw the first dart which successfully landed on a 20.

He heard Izuku gasp, causing the motivation in him to grow larger.

He was getting this for Izuku. Katsuki was going to prove that he had changed and was becoming a better person by helping Izuku.

He was going to make sure this was going to be the best not-so-date in the world of not-so-dates.

Launching the next dart which successfully landed on a 20, Katsuki was getting more pleased by the second.

“Yes! You can do this Kacchan! I-” His phone began ringing.

Bakugo turned around to check on Izuku.

“Oh. It’s Uraraka.”

Pink cheeks?

“I…I need to take this. Just do it without me!” He said as he walked away to answer the phone.

“Hello?” was the last thing he heard before his voice went faint.

Now he was getting paranoid.

Why did RoundFace call Izuku?

She knew that they were going on a not-so-date so why did she?

Is she trying to confess to him or something?

That Kirby looking bitch better not or else Katsuki’s gonna blow up her ass.

Fuck.

Why was he so scared?

Why was he anxious?

Why was he so mad?

He felt his leg bouncing and a shiver pulsed through the back of his spine, sending him an uncomfortable feeling.

Was he…

Jealous?

No.

He couldn’t be. Not like Izuku was his anyway. So it wouldn’t matter. But fuck it made his heart ache so bad.

His throat was throbbing and he felt like he couldn’t speak.

His breathing increased.

“Young man?”

He snapped back to reality.

“Are you okay? Are you uhm, going to strike the last dart?” the poor man asked, concerned.

“Fuck. Uh, yeah.”

He positioned himself ready to throw and flung the last one which landed in the middle.

Katsuki didn’t feel anything after he did that, all he cared about was what Uraraka was saying to his Izuku.

“C-Congrats…You won!” The booth owner said as he went to give him his prize.

“Whatever.”

“You don’t care about how excited that boy would be?”

“I do. Fuck off.”

“How rude.” The man stated as he scrunched his nose.

“Look, old man. Are you gonna give me the thing or not?”

“Okay, okay. Here you go.” He said as he practically threw it at Katsuki.

“Whatever.” He picked up all the other things they’d got but as he was doing this, Izuku had already finished his call.

“Sorry it took a while, she ju-”

“Enjoyed your flirting session?”

Izuku glared at Katsuki.

“What…?”

“You heard me. Look, you're blushing and shit. You and her should’ve gone on a date instead of hanging out with me.”

“Kacchan what on earth?”

“Don’t act like you don’t like her.”

“I like her, but she’s ju-”

“Save it. Let’s just go to another booth. I don’t want to hear about your lovelife.”

“Kacchan. Stop.”

“‘Kacchan. Stop. Please Kacchan.’ How about no? You don’t fucking control me.”

“I’m being serious. We shouldn’t be arg-”

“Do you ever shut up?”

“Kacchan!”

“Leave me alone Deku!” Katsuki slapped his hand on his lips.

Silence.

.

..

Izuku burst out into laughter.

Laughing? Why was he laughing?

“Is Kacchan jealous?”

Fuck.

“What. No! Bastard.”

“Calm down.”

“I am calm!”

“Kaminari-kun just ate my leftovers. She was just telling me about it”

Two things there.

He was so relieved that the Bakusquad didn’t come too far as well.

Secondly, he is thrilled that Izuku wasn’t about to start crying his little butt out.

“I haven’t heard you call me Deku in such a long time! The nostalgia.”

“Masochist.”

“Hey!”

They both let out small chuckles (mostly from Izuku).

“Okay. Okay, let’s go find somewhere to sit.” the boy suggested.

The pair strolled and found a nearby bench where they ate their snacks.

Katsuki had never been so relieved before. He thought he ruined the whole not-so-date by saying that one word.

He is so thankful that Izuku isn’t that soft. He isn’t even that soft in fact. He actually is quite muscular and strong. His legs especially are very husky and he even had well-built abs.

Not only is he polite but he is fit as fuck.

He is really fit.

And his hands.

They are quite rough yet attractive. The scars on them make him look badass. When he was holding his hands however, they were surprisingly quite soft (and cold). Katsuki would use his quirk and heat them up but that was his right hand and rehab advised that he shouldn’t use his quirk with that hand.

Wait a minute.

Why is he daydreaming about Izuku’s build?

That’s creepy.

“I found one. Right here.” Izuku sat on the bench and grabbed his chocolate covered churros.

“Churros are gross.”

“What! You cannot be talking. You literally have spicy corn dogs.”

“Yeah because unlike you, I’m not a pussy who cries and the mildest shit.”

“Ouch. That hurt.”

“Totally.”

Izuku rolled his eyes and ate his churros. His eyes twinkled.

“Woah! These are amazing!”

“Don’t talk with your mouth full, idiot.”

“Sorry.”

They ate the food and laughed. They enjoyed their time. Just like Katsuki planned.

This was the perfect time to give him the gift.

Not confessing yet, but he could at least give him a present.

“Oi, Izuku?”

“Mhm?”

“You know how I said I had gloves in that plastic bag? I lied.”

“I know.”

“Wait, what?”

“Kacchan it was kind of obvious. But you can continue what you were saying.”

“O…kay? Anyways, I actually got you something.”

Izuku almost choked on his churro.

“W-What?!”

Katsuki picked up the bag and scurried for the item. Once he pulled it out, Izuku already had an idea of what it was.

“Bracelets. It’s not much but I just thought we could get one of each other's initials. You can have K and I’ll have I.”

“Kacchan…”

“I know you probably weren’t expecting this and it’s sort of boring. But I think it's-”

“It’s perfect! I,” He reached for the K initialled circlet and slid it on his wrist, “I love it! Oh, it’s perfect. Thank you Kacchan.”

His smile brought so much comfort towards him. Maybe this not-so-date will go as planned.

“Put yours on, I wanna see how they are together!”

“Okay.” Katsuki put his part (which was the other half of the heart) on.

They slowly put them together and they formed one silver heart saying ‘K + I.’

“It’s beautiful Kacchan. I…I love it.”

Everything was perfect.

“Glad you do Izuku.”

They looked at each other's eyes once again and it was the same as always.

Red meeting Green.

Red meeting Green…

Katsuki and Izuku.

Katsuki plus Izuku…

Then, a snowflake landed on Izuku’s nose.

“Huh?” His eyes went all funny as an attempt to look at what was on his nose.

Cute.

He then wiped it off and looked up.

They both did.

“Kacchan. Kacchan! It’s snowing!”

“Yeah I’m not blind.”

Izuku gasped.

“Since it’s dark, we can go Ice skating now! The lights will look all pretty and magical.”

Yes.

Yes!

It was his chance.

“Well then whatchu waiting for? Last one there is a rotten egg!”

“Hey! Wait for me!”

The pair ran like little kids.

Nostalgia hit him like a brick.

The two chased each other when they were little brats. The two playing heroes together. The two celebrating their birthdays together. The two getting their AllMight card.

Honestly, he misses the old days.

But he should forget it. ‘Cause it’s the present day right now and they can relive the past.

He’s done many things in the past, sure, but right now, it’s perfect.

Even though they've gone through a war, they are only still kids. Two kids waiting for the right time.

“First!”

“No fair. You had a head start!

“Whatever. Let’s go put on some skates.”

“Yeah!” Izuku exclaimed as he excitedly went to grab skates for the both of them.

A few minutes passed and the freckled boy came back with two ice skates in his hands. One was white and the other black.

“Sorry if you don’t like this colour, all the other ones your size were either pink or yellow and i knew you didn’t like them.”

That sentence made Katsuki’s stomach flutter: the small details Izuku paid attention to about him showed how thoughtful he was.

Izuku Midoriya was really the boy he loved.

“It’s fine. Definitely better than pink or yellow.” he chuckled.

They sat near each other as they began to put their footwear on.

“So…do you know how to skate?”

Katsuki scoffed.

“Of Course i do. I’m as talented as ever.”

Izuku looked down and fiddled with his Ice skate lace, his face slightly rosy.

“What? Can you not skate?” Katsuki stated as he got up from the ground.

“I’ve done it once as a kid and I fell multiple times. It was humiliating.” Izuku struggled to get up.

The blonde burst out laughing.

“Why recommend it if you're shit at it?”

“It was related to AllMight! I couldn’t miss an opportunity like that.” He reached out to Katsuki, “A little help?”

Katsuki rolled his eyes but did as told and practically dragged the poor boy up.

“Careful!”

“Bastard.”

Izuku sighed.

“Let’s just go.”

“Without a stand thing?”

“I’m not a baby, Kacchan. I’m pretty sure I can skate.”

“Suit yourself.”

Katsuki walked up to the ice platform and skated towards the middle.

“Come on!” He exclaimed.

Izuku hesitated before putting himself on the ice. His legs bended weirdly as he floated on the rink indiscreetly, looking very confused.

Katsuki groaned.

“Ugh. I’m only helping you because I’m feeling nice.”

He skated towards Izuku and reached his hand towards him.

Izuku’s eyes widened as he accepted it.

The blonde pulled him in, still holding his hand.

“You’ve got to drag your legs like this.”

He guided Izuku gently, pulling him carefully around the rink: their hands were locked for what felt like forever. Their smiles were wide and faces red but they were still enjoying their time.

The pair looked like graceful swans swimming in a lake of ice.

It was beautiful.

“O…kay. I think I've got it!”

“I’m the best teacher.”

Izuku giggled and strolled closer to Katsuki, his lips were near his ears.

“The best.” He whispered before pulling away and dancing on the ring like a performer on Ice.

Katsuki touched his chest and felt his heart which was practically about to explode. He then felt his face which was hotter than ever.

“Bastard.” the blonde muttered his breath and followed Izuku.

“Kacchan! Fireworks!” The nerd exclaimed as he grabbed both of Katsuki’s hands and spun them round.

“When could you skate like this?”

“Just like you said. From the best teacher.” He winked, still spinning them around.

Katsuki scoffed and replied with, “Sappy.” which Izuku just laughed at. His dimples were visible since he had the biggest smile ever; Katsuki couldn’t help but smile. This not-so-date was going just as planned, even better! The lights, their laughter, the fireworks and a beautiful boy standing in front of him. He felt like he had the world in his fingers (literally) and wanted nothing than to hold it with him forever. Lock it up so only he can talk, interact and love it.

This was perfect. Everything was perfect.

Izuku was perfect.

“Thank you, Kacchan! For this amazing day.” Izuku confessed as he slowed down.

“No problem. You looked like you needed a break. All this was purely for you ‘cause I don't really enjoy events like this but you. I wanted you to enjoy yourself. Glad you did.”

Izuku looked at him, teary-eyed.

“I’m glad our relationship has gone back to the way it was. Maybe even better.”

They stared deep into each other's eyes for the hundredth time with sheer compassion and care.

Red meeting Green.

Katsuki + Izuku.

The perfect pair…

“Should we start going? I think it’s going to close soon.” Izuku advocated, letting go of the blonde’s hands.

“Yeah. Probably.” Katsuki replied even though he was sort of upset that Midoriya let go of his hands.

He could hold onto them forever. The soft but also rough feeling soothed Katsuki so much but no one needed to know that.

The two gilded off the rink and took off their skates.

“I’ll go return these! Be right back!” and Izuku disappeared.

Bakugo took a deep breath.

This was it. Once they leave the fair, he would confess. He had to–even though Ears’ idea was sappy as fuck, he knew that it would hopefully work.

A sense of nervousness hit him like a truck.

Fuck.

It really is easier said than done.

What if he rejects him? What if he ruins his relationship that he worked so hard to build forever? What if he says the wrong things? What if Izuku mistakes him for something else? What if-

“Back! The man at the desk was a bit annoying but got it in the end.”

“Oh. Unlucky.”

Izuku sarcastically laughed.

“Haha. Very funny. Let me quickly slide my shoes on then we can start going, okay?” Izuku sat on the floorboards.

Katsuki nodded and waited out of the ring, as anxious as ever.

It took quick, paced breaths and reassured himself that everything will go smoothly (as unlikely as it sounds).

Now he was terrified, but no one needed to know that.

“Done. Let’s go!” Izuku announced as he collected a few things from Katsuki’s arms.

Their walk was surprisingly silent; mostly because Bakugo was rethinking this whole not-so-date. If he confessed and Izuku said no, what was he meant to do? How was he meant to react? Run away like a little pussy?

Hell no.

He was Katsuki Bakugo. He wasn’t a pussy. He was a brave, smart and amazing (future pro) hero. He wasn’t scared to confess or be rejected by his crush who was no other than Izuku Midoriya.

Right…?

As soon as they exited the event, Katsuki had decided.

He was going to do this.

He’s got this.

He was no pussy.

He could do this.

Confess and if you get rejected it’s not a big deal.

Not at all.

Love is stupid after all.

And dumb.

And annoying.

And confusing.

But also sort of pleasant.

And he kinda sort of likes it…?

“Izuku.”

“Hm?” The freckled boy turned to face Katsuki.

His face was cuter than ever.

Fuck.

Could he do this?

Breath Katsuki. Breath.

“I need to tell you something important.”

“Oh. What is it?” his expression became concerned.

Come on Katsuki.

Do it…

Do it!

“I’ve been meaning to tell you this for a while.”

“Yeah?”

He took a deep breath.

“I know I’ve done shitty things in the past and I hope you’ve forgiven me. I was insecure and dumb but these past few days, I’ve felt something that I can’t describe. Whenever I’m around you my heart skips a beat. Whenever I hear your voice, it makes me just want to wrap my hands around you.”

“If this is about the middle school thing, just know I’ve already for-”

“I like you.”

It felt like the whole world froze around them.

“What…?”

“I like you, Izuku. Not in a friend way. In a way that makes me want to live with you for the rest of our lives. In a way that makes me want to lock you up and you all to myself. I…” He paused.

“I love you. So please, can you love me back too?”

The deadly silence made Katsuki sure that he was about to be rejected.

As much as it broke his heart, he knew he couldn’t force Izuku to be his. As much as it made him sick, he knew that Izuku didn’t love him back. As much as it makes him want to lock himself away from everyone, he knows that he can’t control Izuku.

It still hurts though.

“It’s okay if you don’t like me back. I underst-”

“Wait!” Izuku stopped him.

“Hah?”

“I mean, I…” He looked down and fiddled with his coat’s zipper, his face redder than a tomato, “I like you too! In that way.”

“You don’t have to lie, you know? It’s okay if you don’t like me back.” Katsuki concluded.

“But I’m not lying! I really do like you. For a while now. I just never thought you’d like me back so I never said anything. But now that you’ve told me, I think it’s appropriate that I tell you. I think it was after you apologised that I fell in love with you. Of course my mental state has been bad ever since then but I still kept those feelings with me. I guess I was just too much of a coward to tell you. I’m super relieved that you like me back ‘cause now I could get that off my chest.”

“Oh.”

Silence.

“Does this mean we’re a couple now?”

Izuku looked him in the eye once more.

“Well, do you wanna be my boyfriend?”

“Fuck yeah. Why else would I confess to you?”

“I want you to be my boyfriend too. So I guess we are a couple.”

“Cool.”

“Did you get forced to say all those things?”

“What things?”

“The ‘sappy’ things.”

“Not really. What? You think they're sappy?”

“No…well, yes but that doesn't mean I don't find them cute! I think it was really cute of you Kacchan.”

“Tch. Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Let’s start going.”

“Yeah.”

They walked holding each other's hands. Since they were officially a couple, they could hold hands, talk about their feelings, hug and…

Kiss.

Kiss…?

“Izuku?”

“Yeah?”

Silence.

“Can we kiss?”

.

..

“You don’t have to if you don’t want to.”

“No! No! It’s just that…I’ve never kissed anyone before.” He said, obviously embarrassed.

“Then I’ll be the first.”

“What?!”

“I’m not repeating what I said.”

Izuku sighed.

“O…kay.”

They stared at each other for a short while before Izuku backed up.

“Ah! I’m not ready!”

“Coward.”

“No I’m not!”

“Then kiss me.”

Izuku blushed.

“Don’t you thi-”

“Coward!”

“Ugh, Kacchan. You're so diffi-”

Katsuki began making chicken noises.

“Co-Co-Coward!”

Izuku grabbed Katsuki’s collar and forced him into a kiss.

It all happened so fast. Their lips meeting.

The nerd’s were surprisingly quite soft and his chapstick tasted sweet.

As soon as they broke away, butterflies erupted in the blonde’s stomach.

“Woah.”

The two were both blushing really hard.

“See. Told you.” Izuku said, his face still bright red.

“Not bad.”

“What!”

“You heard me.”

“I think I did quite well!”

“I say otherwise.”

The idiots spent their whole journey back to the dorms arguing about who was the best kisser. I didn’t really matter, because all that did was the fact that Izuku liked Katsuki back. This not-so-date turned out better than he expected.

Now Izuku was Katsuki’s and that was all that mattered.

Katsuki + Izuku.

For the rest of their lives…

Katsuki: guess what

Kirishima: WHAT? ARE YOU GUYS DATING?

Katsuki: Yeah and i even got him to kiss me

Kirishima: TELL ME EVERYTHING

Katsuki: Nah. Gn

Kirishima: wait what

Kirishima: NOO COME BACK

Kirishima: BAKUBRO???
