Fluke 80K-40 High Voltage Probe
The 80K-40 probe from Fluke is intended to increase the capability of a suitable voltmeter to measure very high voltage levels - up tp 40,000 volts.
There are certain requirements and limitations on both the specifications of the voltmeter and the usage of the probe which must be observed.
The voltmeter must have an input resistance of 10 Megohm. The probe itself may only be used for low-energy applications such as the high voltage circuits found in televisions or photocopiers.
The latter requirement means that the 80K-40 is not suitable for use with power distribution systems.
